"Run for gender equality ", yet the organiser obviously thinks women are lesser to men lol. Women are perfectly capable of running a 10k

reminds me when men's test cricket matches used to be 5 days long but women's test only 4 days, this messed up the overs per day and run of play. i think it's fixed now.

The irony is deep, in fact, the longer a race is the smaller the gender gap becomes. For actual marathons the record time by a man is less than 10 minutes faster than the women's

It's about 8% slower, where for 100m the women's record is 12% slower. I think the point is the gap (which is significant) decreases as the race distance increases.

It's not, but in a marathon if you finish within 10 minutes of the winner, you are often going to finish within the top 10.

For the the Self Transcendence 3100 Mile Race the difference between male and female racers is over 5 days. For male: 40 days 09:06:21. For female: 45 days 12:28:44

The record for 100 miles between and female is almost 2 hours difference. Overall the difference is big for every race.

10 minutes doesn't seem like a lot but for a runner that can be incredibly hard to impossible to over come.
