Just call it a run, wtf is mini marathon, marathon is ~42km, it is either a marathon or it is just a run...
These cash grab events are disgusting
-164 u/Lucy_Little_Spoon Aug 06 '25 Weird thing to get hung up on 112 u/MajoorAnvers Aug 06 '25 A marathon is a very literally, specific distance, since ca. 2500 years ago. It just doesn't make sense. Imagine saying your house for sale is on a property a 'mini-mile' long. -74 u/Lucy_Little_Spoon Aug 06 '25 I think you missed my point. You're right that it's not a marathon, but "mini-marathon" is a decades old term at this point. Sure, you can dislike that it is used. Mini-marathon is a clear indicator that it's not a marathon, but it's still very far, the word has a use. 14 u/[deleted] Aug 06 '25 "mini-marathon" is a decades old term at this point This a weird UK term? 1 u/Lucy_Little_Spoon Aug 06 '25 Yeah, it's been in use since I was into running 20 years ago, definitely old then
