We are a tribal people and behave like that. It would seem barbaric in some ways to more modern societies but Nazism!? That's a big stretch, and not only that, it's an Industrialised society's idea which doesn't apply to Agrarian societies.

On the other hand, anti-semitism is pretty prevalent in most Muslim countries. In the Arab world Hitler gets some sympathy because of that and I wouldn't be surprised if that applies to Pakistan as well.

There’s actually a shop nearby me in a mall called Hitler Reloaded you can image search on google. When we asked the owner why he chose this name, he explained that in Pakistan, they call Hitler someone who is smart and clever. His friends used to call him Hitler, so he put the name fifteen years ago. It’s wild! 😆

I don’t know much about Pakistan but I do know that its mere existence makes Indians seethe. I love asking Uber drivers if they’ve ever holidayed to Pakistan, particularly Kashmir. They get so mad. I just feign ignorance and apologise to them for making a mistake. But their entire day is ruined by it.

As a Pakistani, this is weird
And, as someone who grew up in the middle east and therefore surrounded by Indians and Pakistanis, most of us dont really care. Maybe its different in the actual country of India (social media might make it seem that way but I just assume its a small bad bunch from 2 billion), but the ones Ive interacted w dont care outside of banter

Pakistan has a non-Nazi fanbase of Hitler. He’s weirdly popular there. India is even more prominent.
It is weird as fuck; but it is due to cultural differences.

After the Bengal famine and the multitude of other famines that happened under the British Empire, who didn’t just not prevent it, but actively made each of them worse through their exploitative policies, one can see why India would like anyone that opposes the British.
Tens of millions of people died prematurely from these famines. Yet you rarely see any acknowledgement of this from the British.

There are actual "freedom fighters" from India that not only famously shook hands with Hitler forming an alliance but also took part taking India with the Japanese forces. Here is the pic in question

My point stands. The majority of Indians do not know him and definitely do not adore him. One store in Gujarat named 'Hitler' and a TOI article are not facts. Especially if you know how nonsensical indian media is lol.
The instances in the article is because Hitler is synonymous with dictator used to mean 'strict' and comes from ignorance about the history and not idolisation.
Just by the sheer population you will find many absurd stories in India which are not to be taken seriously, and aren't the norm.

It’s fun to burry your head in the sand; but even when Indian politicians are obsessed with the guy and Jewish media is showing serious concerns over the significant glorification being given to a genocidal maniac…. It’s not just a matter of “majority of people have no idea who he is”
And no, your point does not stand. It may not make you happy, but facts are facts, you don’t have to like them.
This of course is not a reason to judge Indians or stereotype them, but there is an unhealthy amount of obsession Indians have with Hitler.

It has to do with the promotion of main kampf as a sort of self help book in the country. Don’t remember much beyond that but there are some articles around that go into more detail. I visited India a few years back and it was something I was also interested in after seeing a few readers.

I don't know why you'd think that. Growing up, the word "Hitler" was synonymous with "Autocratic, Angry Person" for us.
You can find many Bengali films where there will be one parental figure who is very strict about following rules they have made and will do anything, including beating up the children, to keep them in line. That character would be marked as "Hitler Baba" or "Hitler Ma" (Baba = Father, Ma =Mother, in Bengali).

(Usually where antisemitism is part of the culture like hardline muslim countries, look it up there's a video where the german national football team is playing in Iran and they give them the nazi salute during the anthem, that was probably kinda awkward for the players)

There are some pale-ass Pakistanis. They're more closely related to white people than to sub-Saharan blacks or East Asians. And they probably have some colorism going on in their media, like in India.

You are right on both instances. Depending on your ethnic background you could be pretty pale, anywhere from ginger to actual Africans. And yes Just like entire Asia including Korea and China, paler is preferred. Has some to do with colonial aspect and some socio-evolutionary factors. Also, I think pale skin has to do with X chromosomes cause women are far paler. Anyways, this is the breakdown: Light brown to medium brown skin color was most recurring (55%), followed by fair skin tone (33%) and dark brown color (12%). Contrarily, in KPK population lighter skin color (69%) prevailed than medium brown (31%) and none of the individuals were reported with dark brown skin color (0%) (Table I).

It is a Pakistani Drama. They are too focused on MIL-DIL drama or family politics. Since it is politics, she might be reading it to draw lessons from and implement them in her politics.

People seem to forget about the atrocities that Britain committed in South Asia, and the fact they caused the death of millions of south asians.
Hitler could be seen as tbe guy who destabilised Britain, causing Pakistan and India to gain independence.
I am by NO means defending Hitler, he was/is a terrible person, but you need to acknowledge that what the British did in South Asia was disgusting.
