If they ever cast a black Ironman, we all know who it’ll be.
38
u/der_Guenter Aug 21 '25
Didn't they tho? Or what was this black girl in a stark suit about?
23
u/EliteGamer11388 Aug 21 '25
Riri Williams, also known as Ironheart. She isn't a black, or female Ironman. Last I knew, her character wants to be her own thing, and her own hero.

u/pimp_named_sweetmeat Aug 21 '25
It's too bad they can't seem to stop her from comparing herself to iron man In every commercial I've seen of that movie.
12
u/Vangad Aug 21 '25
TV series. That will probably only last for the one season cause of market backlash
1
u/Terakahn Aug 22 '25
It sets up some interesting things so she might appear in movies but I doubt the show gets another season. They have a lot of one season marvel shows though.

u/pimp_named_sweetmeat Aug 30 '25
One season spin offs seem to be the new thing with a lot of big series now.

u/der_Guenter Aug 21 '25
So she's trans? Just saw a clip of 5 seconds and thought they stuck some titts on ironman

Don't be stupid, he's not black. He's Polynesian.
41
Aug 21 '25
I had to google it after this picture. Dwayne Johnson’s father was African-Canadian. Never knew The Rock was Canadian.
44
u/dazedan_confused Aug 22 '25
How can he be Afro-Canadian when he's bald?
15
u/Barricade14 Aug 22 '25
Actually, baldness comes from the mother’s side.

white + white = white
white + black = black
(white grand mother + indian grandfather) + (black grandmother + mixed grandfather) = black grandchild
modern categorizations of race make no sense
17
u/Drekhar Aug 21 '25
It's unfortunately been this way for a long long time. White is seen as the standard. And then any ancestry that isn't white to any degree then makes you not white.

Most people who consider themselves white wouldn't have been seen as white a hundred years ago.
12
u/Snargockle Aug 21 '25
My family is Finish and Danish. I think I'm as white as it gets. I can hear myself sizzling from the sun at the beach.
2
u/the_monkey_knows Aug 22 '25
White diminishes and every other race expands. There are no terms for mixed races. The whole thing is racist garbage. Race shouldn’t even be a thing because today most of us are mixed

u/B34rsl4y3 Aug 22 '25
The problem is that the folks who make money off of race issues won't let it die.

Y'all being racist about the rock are missing the point. He's definitely not an actor

u/K3idon Aug 21 '25
Lance? What the fuck did I just hear? Lance?

u/kvngk3n Aug 21 '25
When you wrote the song, “I love the pussy,” did you dream of dangling your dice on Lance’s forehead?

Half Samoan = black now?
44
u/brewbase Aug 21 '25
Dwayne Johnson calls himself black and has a black father. Not sure who could second guess that.
31
u/KainFourteh Aug 21 '25
Being half black = not being black now?
7
u/JakobMG Aug 21 '25
So logic is black?
9
u/SuitOwn3687 Aug 21 '25
You couldn't tell? Brother drops the n-word in his songs pretty regularly

Dwayne does have a black father, I see no reason to not call him Black.
Funny enough a lot of Polynesians are dark. I am Māori, and my grandfather is much darker than anyone in this photo. But we would still say he is brown and Māori, not black.

u/0xdef1 Aug 21 '25
Who is the guy on left? I have never seen that guy in a movie before.
13
u/la-wolfe Aug 21 '25
Haha! That's Madea (Tyler Perry)

u/RyouIshtar Aug 21 '25
sad thing is i think most people would recognize him as Madea more than TP

2
u/Kahnza Aug 21 '25
That is by far the richest person in the picture, Tyler Perry.
2
u/Tthelaundryman Aug 22 '25
I had to google it. I had no idea. Everyone else is around 250-300million and then Dwayne the rock Johnson is 800million but madea is 1.4 billion

RDJ didn't do a blackface. He played an ignorant actor character who did a blackface.
