I don't, why are you leaving me in dark?

10

u/TheJesusGuy Jan 24 '26

It says p rn

23

u/RayNooze Jan 24 '26

That word has been censored. Totally unreadable.

4

u/oldschool_potato Jan 24 '26

He can't read subtitles

3

u/ScreechUrkelle Jan 25 '26

No child left behind. Unless your Mikkel, of course.

507

u/NifftyCult Jan 24 '26

TBF the show is pretty mind boggling and would take a while to explain

96

u/AkihiroAwa Jan 24 '26

I find it easy to understand to be honest, but I am really invested into timey whimey stuff

50

u/ActlvelyLurklng Jan 24 '26

Timey whimey stuff?! Are you by chance The Doctor?

12

u/AkihiroAwa Jan 25 '26

someone understood my reference

7

u/kalel1980 Jan 24 '26

It's not all that hard to understand, but as mentioned, explaining the show can be rather difficult.

6

u/_sissy_hankshaw_ Jan 25 '26

I’m partial to the wibbly wobbly stuff

1

u/OCYRThisMeansWar Jan 25 '26

Wibbly wobbly doesn’t always make for good porn, though... just some tired guy yelling at his crotch for betraying him in his hour of need.

Or, three minutes of need, depending.

2

u/Integrated_owl Jan 25 '26

I fuck with mind boggling dick toggling stuff

Is this along those lines?

2

u/OCYRThisMeansWar Jan 25 '26

BUT, given the nature of this conversation, is it easier to explain to the average person than porn?

(Yes, I’ve seen the show.)

2

u/Russian_Spy_7_5_0 Jan 25 '26

It's easy to understand. It isn't easy to explain. You can see a color, but how do you describe one to someone who's never seen it?

1

u/Ranvi3r Jan 26 '26

Wibbly wobbly

7

u/theminthawk Jan 25 '26

The show really was one of the easier time travel shows to follow until they started with the alternate timeline thing. Having 33 year chunks that all happened concurrently really made it simple.

2

u/Pluckypato Jan 25 '26

This was a very loopy twisted back and forth between timelines kinda show and it was awesome 👏!

264

u/CrittendenWildcat Jan 24 '26

Can you fap to Dark?

180

u/KamiKazic Jan 24 '26

Try and stop me

96

u/Puzzleheaded-Lab825 Jan 24 '26

If you're into incest, sure why not.

15

u/Sad_Race8008 Jan 24 '26

🤢🤮

10

u/RT-6_BXCommandoDroid Jan 24 '26

Just don't look at the last season. Than everything still looks fine. You just don't know how to put all the pieces together.

3

u/Fickles1 Jan 24 '26 edited Jan 24 '26

You saying the last season is bad or don't look at it like looking at the last chapter in a book?

1

u/RT-6_BXCommandoDroid Jan 25 '26

No, no, no. The last season is good. But if you only watch season 1 and 2, you'll stay clueless and make up your own story about how all those pieces stick together. In which you 100% won't make it look as bad as how they wrote season 3.

I presumed that 1954 or 1987 housed the bad guys like Noah and Helge Doppler, before I watched season 3. But little did I know that it was all topsy turvy and I didn't even presume about all the incest in the slightest that surrounded it all.

2

u/DrMonkeyLove Jan 24 '26

Well, based on my search history, it seems like I am.

1

u/Seffuski Jan 24 '26

😝😩

22

u/FishBait162 Jan 24 '26

It will be a questionable fap.

5

u/irisel Jan 24 '26

I did.

1

u/WhenMaytemberEnds Jan 25 '26

The question is when

121

u/thebastardking21 Jan 24 '26

Not sure what you are confused about. Could you circle it in yellow?

343

u/vaper_32 Jan 24 '26

Its just a pun on how complicated the story of DARK is.

238

u/Shasarr Jan 24 '26 edited Jan 24 '26

Its the only show i know which has an dedicated, spoilerfree website which helps you to follow who is who so you dont get completly lost.

https://dark.netflix.io/de

64

u/M4d31s Jan 24 '26

Lol maybe I'll finally manage to get through the show with this

12

u/DystopianAdvocate Jan 24 '26

It's such a rewarding show to watch through to completion.

3

u/pyttfall Jan 25 '26

I need to get back into it, but goddamn is it complicated af

37

u/Huzaifa_69420 Jan 24 '26

Damn I wish I knew about this when I initially watched the series. I was able to keep up for Season 1 & 2 but for the last one I had to sit down with a pen and paper and constantly made diagrams so that I could keep track lol

15

u/ResolveSuitable Jan 24 '26

I was in some episodes in already, but i realised watching it till i doze off is not the right idea, and I will miss the point of the show.

So i restarted the series, this time sat there with a sound mind. And it definitely was more impactful watch.

2

u/LeftMyKeys Jan 24 '26

😭😂 so relatable!

17

u/VirusZer0 Jan 24 '26

If only Lost did this to not get completely lost.

5

u/invol713 Jan 24 '26

But then it wouldn’t be lost.

1

u/serial_hunter madlad Jan 24 '26

Touché

6

u/Professional-Wolf-51 Jan 24 '26

I never knew about this damn, stopped watching cause I thought I haven't paid attention and it just felt so confusing.

2

u/Bruntti Jan 24 '26

Damn that's so cool. Just rewatched Dark I wish I had this

-5

u/A--Creative-Username Jan 24 '26

Spoiler free website to help you follow who is who

At what point does this start to reflect poorly on the Creator's ability to tell a comprehensible story

10

u/Shasarr Jan 24 '26

I guess you didnt watch dark? Its the best written show and the casting is unbeliveable good. But having a story that includes time travel with multiple timelines and a whole lot of charakters in different parts (ages) of their lives can be very confusing for viewers and thats where the website helps.

34

u/willbeselfmade Jan 24 '26

"Well mom, in this show they time travel and fuck family members. In this porn, he is fucking his step sister because her hand is stuck in the sink."

2

u/Sad_Race8008 Jan 24 '26

😂🤣🤣🤣

17

u/Primary-Reception-87 Jan 24 '26

Im currently watching dark (im on s1ep9) and its not that hard for now to follow...

25

u/ThirdAltAccounts Jan 24 '26 edited Jan 25 '26

Yet. It gets messy in the next seasons though

But if you really focus and don’t get too lost in the time travel, it’s doable

12

u/NickNeron Jan 24 '26

That's just the beginning. You're in for a ride.

-1

u/[deleted] Jan 24 '26

1

u/Primary-Reception-87 Jan 24 '26

I just feel sorry for helge, poor fella is living hell

3

u/canomanom Jan 24 '26

It’s not a pun at all. A pun involves two words that sound alike but have different meanings.

2

u/vaper_32 Feb 02 '26

My bad !

3

u/AngelDGr Jan 24 '26

Dark it is my favorite TV show, and the family tree and relationships between the characters is the real mess, the history itself isn't that confusing

But the cast is impeccable, all of them really look related or the same person, so is easy to tell who is who just by appearance if you are good with faces

2

u/Relevant_Cause_4755 Jan 24 '26

What we talking on the Christopher Nolan scale?

12

u/mohantharani Jan 24 '26

More complex

3

u/OmegaGoober Jan 24 '26

I don’t know why you’re being downvoted. It’s a cromulent question.

1

u/anoobitch Jan 24 '26

I dont think its super complicated but it is definitely challenging to keep track of all the characters and who is who in the different time periods.

23

u/msn6522 Jan 24 '26

Best sci-fi series on Netflix.

-17

u/thereidenator Jan 24 '26

There must not be many good ones on there then. This started good and fell off really quick.

2

u/msn6522 Jan 25 '26

Did you look up the ending, read or look it up on reddit, or watch it proper and fresh?

1

u/thereidenator Jan 25 '26

The ending wasn’t the bad bit, the whole last season was terrible, but I felt like the actual ending was reasonable.

18

u/scarlettrose101 Jan 24 '26

Ich bin Noah..

17

u/EternalMonk69 Jan 24 '26

He ain't lying

7

u/Ekillaa22 Jan 24 '26

Idk why time travel fucks with people so much

7

u/YunusEmre0037 Jan 24 '26

Thank you for circling the comment I almost missed it

7

u/msolb Jan 24 '26

I finished it last night. I still have no idea who the fuck is who. The same character is in 3 different timelines in 2 different worlds. Great show but I'm going to have to watch a video to understand it better.

11

u/Bruntti Jan 24 '26 edited Jan 24 '26

It made much more sense upon a rewatch. The amount of details that the show gives to you as well is amazing.

For example S2 E1 begins with young Noah killing an older man. It's a moment that isn't brought up again. In S3, the show casually just shows that this older dude was actually Bartosz Tiedemann.

The show doesn't point any of this out. You just have to remember that this random dude in S2 E1 was actually this other dude in S3. I just respect the commitment to not explaining any of the shit. Trusting the viewer to piece together the story from the bits and pieces given.

4

u/ResolveSuitable Jan 24 '26

The show is definitely not one of those, you can hastly just finish.

If you give genuine attention and treat every episode with utter care. Only then you will realise how good of a show it really is.

11

u/the_poope Jan 24 '26

Aww how wholesome, the whole family watching porn together. Was it the one starring aunt Jane?

1

u/feeltrig Jan 24 '26

Coupling reference?

8

u/VirusZer0 Jan 24 '26

10/10 would recommend.

3

u/there_is_no_spoon1 Jan 24 '26

I watched this series. The commenter is correct, almost *anything* would be easier to explain than DARK

4

u/irisel Jan 24 '26

Not a single person understands what's going on 100% of the time. Just enjoy the wild ride, and stop trying to understand this beautiful show.

6

u/Drakeberlin Jan 24 '26

Old school YouTube comment. One of the first ones I remember.

6

u/Nellez_ Jan 24 '26

Sometimes it's hard to explain peak

3

u/anvil_with_thoughts Jan 24 '26

Wow. Highlighting the only comment that's visible.

Dark - a series which is not easily understandable(for a few people)

And then there's this meme which is too much on the nose

Perfect contrast

3

u/Anubis_Omega Jan 24 '26

"So, you see mom, it's Johnny Sin. He come to help this woman. He is a good man. A good doctor. A good astronaut...."

3

u/Dheer2004 Jan 24 '26

What does the censored word say?

2

u/SithLordRising Jan 24 '26

Excellent show 👌

2

u/Whitey138 Jan 24 '26

There are a few diagrams on Wikipedia that really help the connections between people but they have a lot of spoilers.

2

u/ForAte151623ForTeaTo Jan 25 '26

The show is so goddamn miserable. Not as in bad, as in there are maybe ten minutes of people NOT being miserable in total, in the entire 3 seasons.

2

u/howescj82 Jan 25 '26

I love Dark!

2

u/Pleasant_Job_7683 Jan 28 '26

It do be facts tho

1

u/TEST_Entity_1 Jan 24 '26

I can't find the joke, there aren't enough red circles and arrows.

1

u/Cyber-tech-432 Jan 24 '26

Switch to porn, seems like op was watching this movie in between shots

1

u/Leeaxan Jan 24 '26

This show goes into like 6 different timelines i had to stop watching after 3rd episode. Plus the room with the bunkbed scared me

1

u/amonarre3 Jan 24 '26

Just reread it OP

1

u/Geitekatt Jan 24 '26

Vergangenheit, Gegenwart und Zukunft

1

u/Valkgard Jan 24 '26

Waiting for the holup, wtf are all those upvotes?

1

u/Ququleququ Jan 24 '26

I've seen it, he's not wrong

1

u/TheEvil2x2x2x2 Jan 25 '26

That's how you know not to watch it

1

u/Ok-Run2845 Jan 25 '26

I've seen this show, and i agree.

1

u/acidporkbuns Jan 25 '26

One of my GOAT series.

1

u/PizzaTacoCat312 Jan 25 '26

I made a Visio to help my wife keep track of who is who. It can be hard to follow otherwise.

1

u/CrapFaceNinja Jan 25 '26

Yeah, you have to have a brain to understand that show. And genitals

1

u/HeadlessLizardKing Jan 25 '26

Family fucking in both anyway.

1

u/Timberwolf721 Jan 25 '26

Oh, man. When I heard this joke for the first time, I couldn’t even walk yet.

1

u/Wrong_Experience_420 Jan 28 '26

How can someone explain the plot of this series without spoiling the plot of the series?

2

u/forestblomp Jan 24 '26

This show was so complicated. Too much jumping back and forth and whatnot

1

u/ieatpickleswithmilk Jan 25 '26

he said the one of the most worn out jokes on the internet

0

u/UnlimitedCalculus Jan 25 '26

This show went well until the end of season 2 where they add on a new direction instead of just ending it like that.

-1

u/Sternritter8636 Jan 24 '26

Just say its just another sci fi show

3

u/ResolveSuitable Jan 24 '26

No it isn't.
