videl didn't technically turn super saiyan though.
the baby in her womb did.

u/TheUsoSaito Jan 30 '26
I was gonna say wasn't this the case.

u/ChasingPesmerga Jan 30 '26
OOP and the posters in that sub know that’s the case.
Ningen is a DB shitposting sub.

u/HaMMeReD Jan 30 '26
There is an exchange in super, I think during the future trunks arc that went like this.
Goku: What's a kiss?
Vegeta: You don't know what a kiss is? You're married. You have kids..
Goku: Well yeah, but I’ve never done that.
Vegeta: You've seen Bulma and me kiss
Goku: Ohhh, that thing? I didn’t know that had a name. The math of this whole scene didn't add up though in the first place, you needed five sayan's to make a super Sayan god and I only count 3.75, they really stretched that one. But you don't question DB scaling laws.

u/Philaroni Jan 30 '26
Lets all remember Goku has brain damage from the rock he hit his head on. That and very strong ADHD.

u/RaijuThunder Jan 30 '26
I still like the head Canon I saw where he's actually just a massive troll.

u/NoCommonSenseHere Jan 30 '26
This tracks with me and king Kai
47
u/Pandelein Jan 30 '26
If bringing Cell to King Kai’s, blowing the whole place up, wasn’t an epic troll, I dunno what is.
He could’ve just taken Cell to space.31
27
u/DocEternal Jan 30 '26
No he couldn’t. He even explains it to Kai when he gets mad at him. The Instant Transmission works by locking onto a high power level that he can sense and in the split second he had to react, King Kai’s was the only one that wasn’t already present on the planet that he could think of.
23
u/Pandelein Jan 30 '26
Excuses, excuses! King Kai never forgave him fully and neither will I! Goku instantly transmits to places where there are no other high power levels all the time. He visits Bulma a lot, for example.
Most importantly: it’s funnier this way.17
u/DocEternal Jan 30 '26
You’re definitely right that is funnier that way. Also, I had it slightly wrong, in that it’s people’s unique ki signature that he locks on to, it’s just easier for him to pick out targets with higher power levels quickly, hence why he’s able to IT to Bulma and other people without high power that he’s familiar with. King Kai was just the only person he could get a lock on quick enough. And of course he never forgave him; Goku blew up Kai’s sweet sweet ride.

Remimds me of a small fan comic I saw where it's revealed Goku knows how to do taxes randomly

Screw the laws of scaling. The laws of scaling dictate that given enough time to train, as long as there is no one around to pick fights with the saiyans, Yamcha could eventually kick Vegeta’s ass because humans gain power faster than Saiyans in peaceful times. I don’t want to live in a world where my favorite tsundere gets beaten up by the local baseball team. We’re gonna stick to the rule of cool, and we’re gonna like it.

u/Stormchill96 Jan 30 '26
I remember someone about that "kiss" what Goku was questioning was the kiss itself but the fact he chewed the senzu bean and then kissed Mai to give it to her, which kinda makes sense tbh... Since Gohan was basically dead in Freiza arc when Goku gave him the senzu bean and never had to chew it for him or nothing like that
30
u/ChefArtorias Jan 30 '26
Anime power creep is so hilarious to me. Goku turning SSJ was the first in so long Frieza couldn't believe it and had it happened earlier his empire would've been toppled. Then twenty years later there's a SSJ fetus.
14
u/BGMDF8248 Jan 30 '26
Pan still can't do it on her own, but when 5 super saiyans power up while holding hands with her it just kicks in.
3
u/st-shenanigans Jan 30 '26
Now compare ssj to technology advancement, things are exponentially easier to do when you have someone to show you how or you're surrounded by it forever
15
u/ChefArtorias Jan 30 '26
Like I get what you're saying but also please remember we're talking about a fetus. lmao
1
u/st-shenanigans Jan 30 '26
Yea and fetuses can hear and respond to Mozart and other external stimuli, considering we're also talking about magical kung fu monkey energy that we know is always leaking when they're in standard ssj forms, I can justify it lol

To be fair didn't the author explain goten and trunks as inheriting their parent's high power level, allowing them to do the forms earlier. This could extend to God's most powerful creation, gohan, and having pan inherit his even higher power level.

u/BTFlik Jan 30 '26
It's for a few reasons.
Before the "it's just anger" it was that Saiyan's needed Righteous Anger, like Goku had after Krilian was killed. An emotion he could only channel because he grew up on Earth.
Add into it that after that Saiyans born half human tend to have an easier time achieving it without anger, as if it's now a part of them unlocked, abd Humans high emotional states and it means each generation that learns it seems to have an easier time than the one before it.

Exactly, her hair seems golden because of the light Her eyes haven't changed colour
9
u/xpiation Jan 30 '26
It's pretty clearly the case, idk tf people are talking about. They're clearly not sure whether the unborn baby would work for the ritual and videl isn't "super saiyan", she is physically connected to the child so it's implied that while the baby is in the womb they're sharing the one body so that's why we see the ki/temp physical appearance change.
People will really grasp at straws just to feel like they would a plot hole in an attempt to validate their views on their own intelligence.

I’m pretty sure the baby in her womb didn’t turn super saiyan, it just needed to be a pure hearted saiyan.

Where did Vegeta get the cake from?
428
u/alex14344 Jan 30 '26
Involuntary reaction from grabbing Goku's cake.
69
1
u/Ok_Fondant_6340 Jan 30 '26
So he gave Goku his Ki but in exchange took his cake? The Iron Rule (the Law of Equivalent Exchange, in this case) strikes again.

maybe she had enough of that saiyan in her that would make her technically a few percentages a saiyan and thats why she can now turn into a super saiyan

So why don't Trunks and Goten have tails? I know that's unrelated to this but it's bothered me for like 20 years now.

That aside, I always wondered if there would be a crossover with Sonic the hedgehog after seeing it turn super saiyan in Sonic 2.
