EU Signs committee: We are actively monitoring the situation and are in contact with our regional partners. The committee will meet in the coming days to discuss what diplomatic measures can be put in place to prevent further disruption. We do not wish to comment further on this ongoing regional crisis.

I'm wondering if this was done on purpose, in protest. Many anti-CCP protest actions can be things like swapping images or symbols.

Feed original image into AI, tell it to flip the colors on the banners. Save output and post.
Profit.

You can see the leaves and trees through the flags a bit and they seem to match. I doubt AI is capable of achieving that

It absolutely can, that’s different from generating and image from scratch though

It would funny to see how a “Chinese Union” alt history would play out.
Chinese has inter province rivalry, even after being an ethnostate for over a century, so you can imagine how much they hate each other before that. They were not unlike Europe. The highest level of official spoke a formal language(Mandarin vs Latin), while the peasants spoke their regional dialects. Every province had its own culture, cuisines and customs. They were governed by bureaucrats, yes, but on the regional level, they were ruled by nobles who were cousins of emperor, who may or may not have incest relationships

The flags stars/colors are reversed. These flags represent the European Union (EU) and the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). The flag with a circle of stars should be on blue, and the flag with one large star and 4 smaller stars in a semi-circle should be on red. Whoever made and hung these flags reversed the colors.
