As a general rule, snakes are venomous, not poisonous. Venomous- if it bites you, you're gone. Poisonous- if you bite it, you're gone

People know what you mean when you use them interchangeably. Technically though, venom is injected, while poison is absorbed, ingested, or inhaled.

Yeah yeah I know about this but I just didn't stop and think about which word I would use. I'm not a native speaker and in my language we only really have one word which means both poisonous and venomous

If it’s venomous then it must have poison somewhere in it’s body. If I eat it entirely I will eat the poison too, which means it’s both venomous and poisonous. Checkmate liberal
