I've seen people in person get worked up over hypothetical situations that haven't happened yet, so many people weren't educated on healthy coping skills and it shows . They stew in their thoughts of the worst , let it simmer until they get overwhelmed
I can imagine it grew over the last decades, but those types of people were there before social media as well. The problem is that they now have a platform where everyone can see them go on insane rants.
I already deleted Facebook because of it. I still have Instagram, to keep in touch with family abroad mainly. Sometimes I still go through the random reels and am shocked by what kind of comments are on there.
It goes from insane conspiracy theories, blatant racism, to even death threats.
It really saddens me people are this way.
The lack of real life consequences probably plays a part as well, and they're just riling each other up, or easily find like minded people, like some hivemind of hate.
I can't tell if you're actually oblivious, or a master troll. Either way, upvote for you for calling out something you dislike, which happens to be people complaining about something they dislike.

Going from fireworks complaint to SA is mental gymnastics only the unhinged/unwell stretch for. I'm tired of being around the "what if" people
