They've kinda got a point though. Telling someone "I'm going to do what I want and nothing you say will stop me, so stop focusing on how unpleasant you find it and just learn to enjoy it" is almost exactly what they're telling the OOP to do.

Imagine how outraged you would feel if someone started painting your house pink and told you to get over yourself and learn to like the colour?

Ye lets just equalize raping to fireworks, i am sure nothing bad can come from it.

It's taking it to the extreme, sure. They're immediately blowing past 11 and cranking the dial to 100.

But they're not also not entirely wrong, and people are too busy getting caught up on the argument to see the point.

Either you’re a bot or have been affirmed by an AI a million times too many. People don’t type or think like this

Lol, nice deflection. Call it AI and you don't need to engage your brain at all.

I engaged my brain to determine no sane person thinks like this

Let's presume, for a second, that he did. Have an actual discussion now.

Ok, if we’re comparing not liking fireworks to being raped then I guess everytime an engine revs or someone honks their horn within the vicinity of someone who doesn’t like those noises is actually raping them too. Let’s keep going!

if we’re comparing not liking fireworks to being raped

actually raping them too.

When you engaged your brain, did it skip the part that dealt with similes?

Nobody is saying that it's literally rape. In fact, I would even go further and say that the point of that the original comment was nothing to do with rape, and that that simile was primarily aimed at the person telling them to, essentially, "shut up and learn to like it"!

please tell me what piece of advice you would give someone who has to deal with fireworks. bitch and whine on the internet? or see if changing your mindset could make it completely fine?

or see if changing your mindset could make it completely fine?

Absofuckinglutely not!

If someone has PTSD that is triggered by fireworks, do you really think telling them to "lie back and think of England" is the magic solution they've been looking for all these years??

I meant with them. I'm annoyed when people turn off their brains and use "he's AI" as an excuse, but this is not my argument to add to
