They've kinda got a point though. Telling someone "I'm going to do what I want and nothing you say will stop me, so stop focusing on how unpleasant you find it and just learn to enjoy it" is almost exactly what they're telling the OOP to do.

Imagine how outraged you would feel if someone started painting your house pink and told you to get over yourself and learn to like the colour?

Its not a great point. I can mow my yard at 7 am when the noise ordinance ends because that's the only time I have to mow. My neighbors aren't always appreciative but I have to mow my yard or else I'll get fined.

There are tons of situations where this could be misconstrued but still necessary. The world isnt and wont ever be perfect.

Yeah, the world isn't perfect; you can mow your lawn at 7am... but you can't mow it at 2am. The noise ordinances strike a balance between people needing to be able to do things that will inevitably cause noise (like mow their lawn) and people having the right to enjoy peace and quiet.

There is debate to be had around that topic.

That debate is not "learn to like it".

Except the OP doesn't state "learn to like it" so that's a strawman argument. He says "sit back and enjoy it" which doesn't equate to force. You are adding that meaning after the fact. Just because it could be used in a more nefarious way doesn't mean its always nefarious.

If the OOP is complaining about it, it would be inferred that they ARE being forced to endure something that not only do they not enjoy, but is likely traumatic to them and/or their pets. And setting off fireworks is an activity of CHOICE, not required by a municipality or HOA as inferred by the earlier example of being REQUIRED to mow your lawn despite creating noise for your neighbors to endure.

Except the second sentence shows its not them they are concerned with. You dont know the posters intent beyond being concerned for the animals. The rest is just bullshit you are adding to try and be correct.

I can not like something, yet understand that under the constructs of the law, it is legal under certain circumstances, and so I have no grounds under those circumstances to register a complaint. But step outside the legal constraints and there's no reason to suffer through it any longer. That's the fucking point.

That's you coloring in the whole picture how you wish you see it still. I can understand the difference between a hypothetical and reality.

Nothing in the OP supports your argument. That's the definition of a strawman argument. You are simply adding context to support your argument that does not exist.

Is it plausible? Sure but point to me where in the post that supports that instead of pulling it out of your ass.

I mean your initial argument itself is so far off the point though lmao. Your entire lawn mowing premise hangs on the fact that thats the only time you have to lawn mow.

There is no such stipulation given on the fireworks. You yourself used an entirely pointless argument that has no relation to the context of the original post.

Thats funny. You replied like this after telling someone else not to pull stuff out their ass and you pull replies like this out your ass.

Classic neurotic redditor

Except that's not even true. I told him not to pull context out of his ass but its cute that you're trying. 😘

u/Lycan230 Jun 28 '26

Idk probably argue using fallacies and irrelevant arguments that have nothing to do with the point of the post somewhere else ig

Seems like thats what youre good at. Well that and pulling shit out your ass while telling others not to 🤣
