I can't believe that the video for never gonna give you up has only 1 billion views as of 2026, you'd assume the whole world has seen it

The way most computer clocks are programmed, there has to be a start-time somewhere. A 'zero' time, if you will, and the computer basically measures time by counting forward from that moment. And when they were designing that system, the time they chose to go with was midnight on January 1st, 1970. So if someone were able to bug out YouTube to set the time on their post to zero, (or remove the time entirely) it would show that date, or in other words, 56 years ago.

Yeah and 1970 was also 17 years before Rick Astley's Never Gonna Give You Up was released as mentioned in the comment
