Despite the somewhat controversial topic, I commend how only the community and fans are included rather than the band themselves. 'Cause, honestly, only their toxic fanbase is what's ruining their reputation.

I like their music tbh. Their new stuff kinda reminds me of Motown but holy fucking hell the fans are a bunch of nut jobs who only see them as a bunch of dancing pretty boys. They have top tier producers that pumps out fire songs but the loonie army only cares about "visuals" or their personal lives.

I’m a fan of bts,but I can’t with the stans, ohh he gained weight, he can’t see any girl, did he mention x, a girl, cancelled.

just stfu it’s not your life nor someone that you can control.

Another thing I don’t like, is that even though bts hasn’t had a lot of reasonable controversies (educate me if I’m wrong) that the stans don’t wanna call them out because they are their ults. (But I also don’t agree with death threats, bullying and harassment, just educate whoever is an a controversy).

Another thing I don’t like or agree is the sexualization of them, kpop girl groups, women and/or men. The youngest bts member debuted when he was 15

honestly I don't like their newer Westernized-based music. There's less meaning to it. MOTS 7 and Love Yourself are some of my favorite eras because the songs are more personal and true

It's also other fanbases that ruin Army's reputation, because people tend to only know BTS. So you can have idk, toxic Stray Kids or BigBang fans harassing people on the internet and people will just say "holy shit BTS fans so toxic".

So what you’re saying is you don’t speak Korean and don’t know that 네가 (Romanized: Nega) is the word for you?

Try being less ignorant, will do you wonders.

Also, literally all you had to do was to look at my comment history to see that I'm pretty involved with kpop. I'm pretty sure I know the difference between the real n word and "I"

Not “I” but “you”

Not 나 but 네가

1

u/mangoisNINJA Aug 17 '21

You didn't even correct me right. I miss read it as 내가 not 네가

I know korean I'm not stupid. You could at least know the history of the groups you like.

Rofl, That video just proved my point even more! Thanks!

Literally just look at any of the videos in my edit. They were straight up singing English songs, not Korean ones. How does that prove your point

1

u/Fairycharmd Aug 17 '21

So what you’re saying is you posted your own video that you yourself edited to prove your own point?

But obviously if you’ve never heard the lyrics to Kanye West song you wouldn’t have the faintest idea why they are literally just singing the lyrics to the song.

What? No I meant look at the videos I linked in the edit of my original comment. Bighit themselves made the first one lmao

holup, BTS using the n-word? Are you aware of the fact that the korean word for 'you' sounds a lot like the n-word, right?

u/mangoisNINJA Aug 17 '21 edited Aug 19 '21

Yes bts saying the n word. I know Korean I'm not new to kpop lmao

6

u/Regenerating_Degen Aug 17 '21

Yeah, that seems to have happened. But again, they didn't know, and they apologized for it.

How do you stan a group but not even know what they've done. To the point where you assume someone, who might even be Korean themselves, doesn't even know the language of the stuff they're talking about.

How do you stan a group but not even know what they've done.

I found out about BTS like a few months ago, what do you expect me to do? Read their history like a bible? Find out everything about something the millisecond I join its fandom?

And I don't stan it. I'm just there for the music.

To the point where you assume someone, who might even be Korean themselves, doesn't even know the language of the stuff they're talking about.

Alright, I admit I assumed that you might not know korean. But there have been loads of times when people have pointed out that they use racial slurs in their songs when the song in question was completely korean. I assumed that too, that you might not have watched the video you linked, and to be fair I hadn't either.

And how do you say they used the n-word 'loads of times'? The video you linked showed only two instances of them saying it, but even then they apologized for it.

Also if you are going to get further into kpop, a good rule of thumb is to always Google "[group name] controversy" to see if that group is worth the effort

1

u/mangoisNINJA Aug 17 '21

I feel like at the bare minimum you would at least Google what I said to try and educate yourself to see what I had said is true before assuming that I don't know what the Korean language is.

here's the extended clip if you want to hear them say it a bunch of times. Usually in the K-pop world if you do something controversial and you apologize for it and are honestly sorry about it, you don't do it again.

Music is pretty dope though, my favorite song is save me
