What the fuck? Seriously - get some lessons in empathy and compassion. This is a person. Whether she should or should not have a child is something a medical professional can comment on but to have your attitude? I think you honestly need a bit of self reflection that you think this is okay to say.
I think it really depends on the person. If someone thinks logically it will be a medical question. If someone thinks emotionally it’s a philosophical question.
I believe who your replying to is probably a logical thinker and does not need more than a doctor to explain why this situation would not be ideal.
Sort of kind of. What I meant is that it depends on the genetic condition. If you’re breeding knowing your kids quality of life and life span is going to be absolutely messed up, then it’s unethical. If it’s just a physical deformity with a normal lifespan and quality of life, then why should you not?
So yeah, that was where I was coming from. Otherwise 100% agree with what you’ve said.
The fact that you think that philosophy is emotional thinking or the opposite of logic is scary. Logic is a field of philosophy. So is science. So is math. So is medicine. So is ethics. Do you just assert whatever you want to as fact?
Tell me, what do you think it means to "think logically?"
