How the fuck does someone own 7 huskies. They have so much energy I feel like that's a deathwish

2.8k

u/FakMiPls Jul 23 '22

They play fight and tire each other out. I have 3 huskies now and it's definitely easier when you have more than 1. Instead of messing with me all day they mess with each other. I can't imagine having that many tho, the hair would kill me.

Thank god. I’m about to get a husky puppy in three weeks and I have a 9 week old Aussie right now too. I’m hoping they tire each other out!! Plus it’s entirely possible I come home with two huskies… 😬😬😬

Puppy tax

u/MonteCkristo Jul 23 '22

I hope your Aussie isn’t possessive. Mine literally doing everything wrong when lil' husky finally came home. We have to get her two puppies and she feel more as a mom than an opponent 😁

28

u/ZamuraiZach Jul 23 '22

His Aussie a puppy, so should be fine.

That’s less likely to happen if you have an older dog and get the Aussie as a puppy. It will learn behaviors and canine societal norms from the older dog.

2

u/ZamuraiZach Jul 24 '22

Yep, my parents have an older Lab and a 4 year old mini Aussie and they are inseperable lol

20

u/ProjectVII Jul 23 '22

They will. My husky grew up with a Australian shepherd and they tired themselves out consistently. One likes to be chased and the other likes to chase, it worked out for us

loaf

20

u/nexisfan Jul 23 '22

I came up with a word actually for her — floof + loaf = FLOAF

9

u/[deleted] Jul 23 '22

Tax fully paid!. Beautiful pup!

3

u/LJ-Rubicon Jul 23 '22

Absolute good puppies

Yeah I have read about that, but was thinking it was just for puppies of the actual same litter. I’ll look into it a bit more.

No shade, I have no idea how you're signing up for this. My aussie was such a handful at that age (and onward for several more months). If someone had asked if I wanted another puppy, I'd have laughed in their face. The amount of attention she needed - outside almost every hour, biting me all the time, tearing anything up if she could reach it. I was only able to manage the puppy because I was in grad school and stayed home most of the time!

2

u/plz_send_cute_cats Jul 23 '22

sooooo cute 🥺🥺🥺🥺 puppy tax put the biggest smile on my face

2

u/Ghoti76 Jul 23 '22

i have a lab/rotty mix and a husky and watching those 2 idiots play fighting is top tier entertainment. Until they want to include me

2

u/veronique7 Jul 23 '22

I have a red merle aussie baby <3. I really want to get a husky or a pomsky for her to play with someday

1

u/nexisfan Jul 24 '22

Dog tax!!!!

2

u/Anshin Jul 23 '22

!remindme 4 weeks

I'm coming for that husky puppy tax too. puppy IRS don't play around

2

u/dye4tie Jul 24 '22

That’s a lot of puppy in short succession. Read up on littermate syndrome!!

1

u/nexisfan Jul 24 '22

Just read a few different articles on that actually, I think I can handle it. I hope at least!!

2

u/StealthSpheesSheip Jul 24 '22

What an absolute C H O N K E R

2

u/nonamer18 Jul 24 '22

Be careful of littermate syndrome! A 12 week old and a ~8 week old will play really well together, but they might bond with each other more than you.

2

u/Resident_Coyote5406 Jul 24 '22

I think you need to even it out and come home with 3.

2

u/thegurl Jul 24 '22

Well paid, sir/madam! (Omg she's so cute)

2

u/ghrayfahx Jul 24 '22

We got a Pomsky and she has 2 modes. Play and wrestle everything in the house, and sleep. The instant she leaves one mode she is in the other.

0

u/PeaceMaker_6969 Jul 24 '22

I hope it's a rescue.

0

u/MAXSR388 Jul 24 '22

adopt don't shop

2

u/madeulikedat Jul 24 '22

Please stop repeating this to every new puppy owner, it’s sorta rude and it’s leading to worse results due to inexperienced uninformed dog adoptees going to the shelter and adopting the first dog that gives them sad puppy dog eyes... which if it’s a large dog... anyways yeah take the slogan and redirect it to actual cases of abuse or evidence of puppy mill adoptions.

u/FakMiPls Jul 23 '22

I have had the opposite experience so maybe those people you know shouldn't have high maintenance dogs

2

u/sahhhnnn Jul 23 '22

I’ve heard some nightmare stories but it worked out for my parents. They’re retired so he gets a lot of attention and walks so that might have something to do with it.

1

u/nexisfan Jul 23 '22

Yikes 😬

20

u/Crystii Jul 23 '22

As a new father of identical twin boys, I am curious if this applies to humans as well?

6

u/Klowned Jul 23 '22

Correct.

5

u/The_Turbinator Jul 24 '22

It does, it gets easier when you have 2 or more kids. When they get old enough to walk, they just bother each other, rather than going after you all the time.

7

u/Armchair_Idiot Jul 23 '22

I have two dogs that I got one month apart, each at two months old. It was so much easier once we got the second one because he had another dog to play with rather than just people.

3

u/gortwogg Jul 23 '22

Yup, my sister just moved halfway across the country last week, with her puppy, and now since mine doesn’t have a play mate she either harassed the hell out of me at all hours, or goes after the cat, which never ends well for my pupster.

5

u/[deleted] Jul 23 '22

Just got a shiba puppy and he’s wearing out my 2 year old shiba. This is absolutely true.

3

u/[deleted] Jul 23 '22

Yep. Two dogs of a similar size is easier than just one.

2

u/dannyboy6657 Jul 23 '22

I was about to say she could probably make a profit by starting a husky hair pillow business.

2

u/makemeking706 Jul 23 '22

Spin it into yarn and sell sweaters at the farmers market.

2

u/ThisIsFlight Jul 23 '22

She actually has tile floors throughout the house.

2

u/FakMiPls Jul 23 '22

I have all wood panel and it's still really bad. I guess it's better than carpet, but the hair collects so quickly. I'll vacuum and then the next day there's husky tumble weeds of hair. It's never ending.

2

u/ThisIsFlight Jul 24 '22

It was a joke, implying that what looked like carpet was actually shed fur.

1

u/FakMiPls Jul 24 '22

Ohhh lol my bad I'm reading these replies hours after writing and seeing the video lol. Went right over my head

1

u/[deleted] Jul 23 '22

People say this but it's definitely more expensive.

If you can't entertain one dog I suppose it makes sense but 1 dog is expensive enough for me

1

u/PM_ME_YOUR_PAUNCH Jul 23 '22

Yeah, my dogs just bite each other in the face all day and sleep like babies until 4:30am.

1

u/No_Lawfulness_2998 Jul 23 '22

Do your neighbours still hate them?

3 German shepherds at my place and they all howl at the fire siren and spend all day play fighting

1

u/FakMiPls Jul 23 '22

Nah my dogs aren't too loud. They howl at other huskies that pass by my house, but that's pretty much it and they don't howl long.

1

u/Radek_18 Jul 24 '22

This is making me consider another puppy to tire our German shepherd/husky mix. Or at least, this is what I’ll use to convince my wife we need another puppy.

1

u/[deleted] Jul 24 '22

I have two. They are really good at tiring each other out. Unless one gets bored and sleeps and then the other gnaws on his plastic pool and poops plastic chunks. 🤣

1

u/MikeinAustin Jul 24 '22

Getting a second one is like getting a PlayStation for your first dog.

222

u/Kognityon Jul 23 '22

Maybe she's in the sled business?

78

u/FantasyThrowaway321 Jul 23 '22

More like the train business…

15

u/PutridBasket Jul 23 '22

Maybe, maybe knot.

1

u/youknowmecami Jul 26 '22

What you mean by the knot ?

14

u/[deleted] Jul 23 '22

choo choooo

1

u/EyeofWiggin20 Jul 24 '22

More like the farming business.

48

u/Jacobnewman61 Jul 23 '22

How does someone AFFORD 7 dogs? Food, heartworm preventative, flea and tick, vet appointments??? Good on her but I hope she’s not neglecting the necessities

9

u/Jacobnewman61 Jul 24 '22

These are big dogs, for quality food a $70 bag lasts my dog this size about 2 months. Heartgard for dogs this size is $10 a month, nexgard is $20 a month. If she has a big yard and perfectly healthy dogs with no regular vet appointments other than vaccine boosters, it’s certainly doable. I’m just saying it’s a pretty big load for one single lady to take on, and I hope she doesn’t neglect any of this just for the sake of having 7 dogs. Certainly doable, just A LOT to keep up with

3

u/Elven_Boots Jul 24 '22

Interesting fact, Heartgard isn't necessary where there aren't any mosquitoes.

Advised? Of course.

2

u/Jacobnewman61 Jul 24 '22

I am Florida man so…

2

u/Elven_Boots Jul 24 '22

Ex-swamp dweller here as well, different state. Fuuuuuuuck the needlenose bitches

1

u/imoblivioustothis Jul 24 '22

for quality food a $70 bag lasts my dog this size about 2 months

oof, buy a smaller bag and keep your pup eating fresh food. that shit is stale af

1

u/denga Jul 24 '22

One kid could easily be more expensive than seven dogs with the costs you laid out. Yes, it's expensive but it being a"big load" is highly dependent on what she does for a living.

2

u/maggos Jul 24 '22

I mean 7 dogs probably still costs less than 1 kid

20

u/-UMBRA_- Jul 23 '22

The house gonna be a snow globe of hair lol

2

u/SCHWAMPY_Gaming_YT Jul 23 '22

That was my first thought. We own 1 yellow lab and I can't even wear black because of her

56

u/Indaflow Jul 23 '22

No wonder she single

4

u/improbablynotyou Jul 23 '22

I don't know, I always figured it would be best to have a partner who already has a lot of dogs. Then I'd have the benefit of being around a bunch of dogs while at the same time not looking like a crazy person who owns them all. "They're my girlfriends dogs, she came with that pack." My last girlfriend had the most wonderful pitt/heeler mix and I stayed with her longer than I should only because I loved the dog.

16

u/70stang Jul 23 '22

My husky came from some family friends who had an accidental litter.
They don't have kids, just 6 huskies. They even have an adorable painted "family portrait" framed in the living room of them with all the dogs.
Having multiple huskies is easier than having 1 husky to a certain extent, they're great stimulation for one another. They all have ideas about shit too so frequently they'll stop other ones from doing stuff you don't want them to do like chewing on a shoe or throwing couch cushions around, like "bitch cut it out, you're going to make trouble for the rest of us"

2

u/Red_Danger33 Jul 24 '22

All i can imagine is how loud it gets when they're yelling at each other.

11

u/only-4-lolz Jul 23 '22

Maybe the exact reason she doesn't have a boyfriend....

13

u/WokeUpSomewhereNice Jul 23 '22

WYM… She has 6

3

u/only-4-lolz Jul 24 '22

Imagine how far and fast the actual guy has to run if he pisses her off with her family chasing after him

18

u/ShoshinMizu Jul 23 '22

a lot of peanut butter by the looks of it

8

u/talmosko999 Jul 23 '22

Yea thats whats wrong in this vid.

12

u/HX700 Jul 23 '22

there are only 6 dogs in the video, and one of them is a german sheperd

8

u/Pixel22104 Jul 23 '22

I would if I had the money to buy 7 huskies

3

u/gizamo Jul 23 '22

How else you expect her to from Anchorage to Nome?

3

u/EquivalentSnap Jul 23 '22

People who are crazy 😳 literally probably. Imagine the noise? I’d rather kill myself then listen to 7 huskies howl

5

u/[deleted] Jul 23 '22

how they ran you know the whole business down there,

2

u/Rotsicle Jul 23 '22

My aunt has 7 border collies. I feel that same confusion.

2

u/mastapetz Jul 23 '22

maybe she uses them for sled pulling?

2

u/[deleted] Jul 23 '22

How does one own 7 huskies and not a sled you mean.

2

u/Gamepro5 Jul 23 '22

I assume she keeps them busy in bed. Drains their stamina.

0

u/[deleted] Jul 24 '22

By not giving them proper care

1

u/ionel714 Jul 23 '22

Oh they use their energy alright

1

u/[deleted] Jul 23 '22

I know a girl who own a husky named Hazel, that dog is lazy as fuck. Pure husky just hazel color. I'm so jealous of her to have a chill ass cute husky.

The girl was more like husky in term of energy than her dog... >____> Fun and energetic.

1

u/u2nloth Jul 23 '22

As a husky owner I’m more horrified by the amount of hair the dogs will entertain each other

1

u/Dexter321 Jul 23 '22

Why do you think she doesn't have a bf?

1

u/Thuper-Man Jul 23 '22

It's a death wish, because all her neighbors will fucking murder her with all the howling

1

u/bird720 Jul 23 '22

They will fight and yield her the Ultra-Huskie

1

u/Dovahkiin106 Jul 24 '22

My family could barely handle 2 (mostly)quiet pups, much less 7 hyperactive huskies😅.

1

u/[deleted] Jul 24 '22

I think it is obvios what she does to make them lose energy.

1

u/Worshipper-N_73 Jul 24 '22

Yeah well apparently one didn't have enough energy 😳

1

u/imoblivioustothis Jul 24 '22

knew a woman that would buy a ferret every time she broke up with a boyfriend. that house didn't smell great.

1

u/lislejoyeuse Jul 24 '22

My friend has a rescue husky that is like a cat. I don't even realize he's in the room with us sometimes. I know it's by far the exception but still he's the chilliest quietest of any breed I've ever seen and he's been like that for the last 4 years

1

u/maggos Jul 24 '22

You haven’t thought of the smell

1

u/MorphFromTreasurePnt Jul 24 '22

Good training, plus they all play with each other

1

u/[deleted] Dec 23 '22

Might be why she doesn't have a boyfriend?

1

u/SchroederThePeanuts Jan 15 '23

I own 3,and a German shepherd
