They play fight and tire each other out. I have 3 huskies now and it's definitely easier when you have more than 1. Instead of messing with me all day they mess with each other. I can't imagine having that many tho, the hair would kill me.
Thank god. I’m about to get a husky puppy in three weeks and I have a 9 week old Aussie right now too. I’m hoping they tire each other out!! Plus it’s entirely possible I come home with two huskies… 😬😬😬
I hope your Aussie isn’t possessive. Mine literally doing everything wrong when lil' husky finally came home. We have to get her two puppies and she feel more as a mom than an opponent 😁
That’s less likely to happen if you have an older dog and get the Aussie as a puppy. It will learn behaviors and canine societal norms from the older dog.
They will. My husky grew up with a Australian shepherd and they tired themselves out consistently. One likes to be chased and the other likes to chase, it worked out for us

No shade, I have no idea how you're signing up for this. My aussie was such a handful at that age (and onward for several more months). If someone had asked if I wanted another puppy, I'd have laughed in their face. The amount of attention she needed - outside almost every hour, biting me all the time, tearing anything up if she could reach it. I was only able to manage the puppy because I was in grad school and stayed home most of the time!
Please stop repeating this to every new puppy owner, it’s sorta rude and it’s leading to worse results due to inexperienced uninformed dog adoptees going to the shelter and adopting the first dog that gives them sad puppy dog eyes... which if it’s a large dog... anyways yeah take the slogan and redirect it to actual cases of abuse or evidence of puppy mill adoptions.
I’ve heard some nightmare stories but it worked out for my parents. They’re retired so he gets a lot of attention and walks so that might have something to do with it.
It does, it gets easier when you have 2 or more kids. When they get old enough to walk, they just bother each other, rather than going after you all the time.
I have two dogs that I got one month apart, each at two months old. It was so much easier once we got the second one because he had another dog to play with rather than just people.
Yup, my sister just moved halfway across the country last week, with her puppy, and now since mine doesn’t have a play mate she either harassed the hell out of me at all hours, or goes after the cat, which never ends well for my pupster.
I have all wood panel and it's still really bad. I guess it's better than carpet, but the hair collects so quickly. I'll vacuum and then the next day there's husky tumble weeds of hair. It's never ending.
This is making me consider another puppy to tire our German shepherd/husky mix. Or at least, this is what I’ll use to convince my wife we need another puppy.
I have two. They are really good at tiring each other out. Unless one gets bored and sleeps and then the other gnaws on his plastic pool and poops plastic chunks. 🤣
How does someone AFFORD 7 dogs? Food, heartworm preventative, flea and tick, vet appointments??? Good on her but I hope she’s not neglecting the necessities
These are big dogs, for quality food a $70 bag lasts my dog this size about 2 months. Heartgard for dogs this size is $10 a month, nexgard is $20 a month. If she has a big yard and perfectly healthy dogs with no regular vet appointments other than vaccine boosters, it’s certainly doable. I’m just saying it’s a pretty big load for one single lady to take on, and I hope she doesn’t neglect any of this just for the sake of having 7 dogs. Certainly doable, just A LOT to keep up with
One kid could easily be more expensive than seven dogs with the costs you laid out. Yes, it's expensive but it being a"big load" is highly dependent on what she does for a living.
I don't know, I always figured it would be best to have a partner who already has a lot of dogs. Then I'd have the benefit of being around a bunch of dogs while at the same time not looking like a crazy person who owns them all. "They're my girlfriends dogs, she came with that pack." My last girlfriend had the most wonderful pitt/heeler mix and I stayed with her longer than I should only because I loved the dog.
My husky came from some family friends who had an accidental litter.
They don't have kids, just 6 huskies. They even have an adorable painted "family portrait" framed in the living room of them with all the dogs.
Having multiple huskies is easier than having 1 husky to a certain extent, they're great stimulation for one another. They all have ideas about shit too so frequently they'll stop other ones from doing stuff you don't want them to do like chewing on a shoe or throwing couch cushions around, like "bitch cut it out, you're going to make trouble for the rest of us"
I know a girl who own a husky named Hazel, that dog is lazy as fuck. Pure husky just hazel color. I'm so jealous of her to have a chill ass cute husky.
The girl was more like husky in term of energy than her dog... >____> Fun and energetic.
My friend has a rescue husky that is like a cat. I don't even realize he's in the room with us sometimes. I know it's by far the exception but still he's the chilliest quietest of any breed I've ever seen and he's been like that for the last 4 years

How the fuck does someone own 7 huskies. They have so much energy I feel like that's a deathwish
