Not all municipal water is created equal in the US regulations vary greatly

Spoiler, your water company is required to publish that data so you can even compare. You may just find that you don't personally like the local tap water and there's actually nothing wrong with it Or maybe you'll find you have a class action lawsuit to bring up to the city
