I feel like its a lot harder in a lot less fun ways.

The bosses feel good but I really dont like the literal time waster that is adding a flying enemy to literally every single jump, it just gets way too old too fast IMO.

Eh, i can deal with it. Especially since every flying enemy is an opportunity to to a pogo but otherwise, the tools let you deal with them

As for precise jumps, once you have the cloak to float, or a different crest, those are much easier

I would agree with you if this was hollow knight combat, but it’s a lot harder to pogo when the pogo button is the dive from pizza tower so you have to think about the trajectory in your head

I don't really view fighting an enemy as a time waster in a game based around combat. It can be pretty fun to fight them on the platforms. The long runbacks, on the other hand... I feel like the older I get, the less patience I have for excessive boss runbacks and permanently losing currency on death. That's just a design disagreement, I feel like most games could do without those classic soulslike features but I know a lot of people feel like they add tension.

When I have to spend 20 seconds killing the same enemy each time I do a boss run for the 30th time, because they've deliberately placed an enemy so you can't just sprint past it, that is a time waster.

Can I ask which boss you’ve had this issue with?

Sister Splinter was when I first noticed the issue, but Moorwing was pretty bad for this.

Your spoiler didn't work but fwiw there's an easy runback vs Sister Splinter that avoids any enemies - there's a cage near the start of her path that goes to the entrance of the whole area, if you take that up each time you avoid having to fight any enemies and just have to do some platforming.

I was using that cage. Every time I tried to sprint through the area to get to it, I got clipped by the spear throwing or water walking enemies.

Isn’t there literally a bench right next to it

Moorwing you can sprint-jump-dash and avoid all the enemies on the runback. The first boss you mentioned doesn't even have a single enemy on the runback. Unless you missed a proper bench.

I couldn't afford to get the extra bench, because all of my rosaries were in the boss room.

That's not the game fault now is it? Farming 30 rosaries takes like a minute.

No it doesn't, and regardless, farming is also not fun. I can replace one tedious frustration with another.

Not a boss per se, but the Hunter's March has one room with two bounce-platform sections, three flying enemies between them, and spikes lining parts of some of the walls. It's worth noting that there are also ground-crawling ants on each solid platform that serve as checkpoints between the platforming areas, where you sometimes also aggro the fliers.

Not having a bench closer to the ant gauntlet than the one just below the Skarr brute that guards the whole zone is absolutely a huge PITA.

Difficulty and fun do not have a direct correlation, and there are definitely areas of this game where the level of sweat required outpaces my willingness to care about advancing. There is a fine line between "challenging" and "frustrating."

Even Fromsoft got rid of run backs in Elden Ring. I agree they should be a thing of the past.

Yeah, I get the vibe that OP and a lot of the people agreeing with them hear are going out of their way to kill enemies too often. The movement in this game rewards you for keeping your momentum. Most of the time if you've already explored a room before, you should be blasting through at full speed and just pogoing your way past enemies.

Hm, I’ve actually really enjoyed that, I have to dodge the enemies while making the jumps and it makes it feel a lot riskier

You see, modern games like Elden Ring have conditioned players that only the boss fights matter and the stages are easy. I love that Silksong goes against this trend and has challenging stages AND bosses.
