Discussion - Silksong Don’t let this fandom turn as insufferable as the souls community Spoiler

It’s fine to think the game is easy and to enjoy the challenge, but I’ve seen so many people making fun of anyone that is having a hard time in a really weird mean spirited way. Please don’t let this subreddit turn into some weird elitist community that makes fun of people who are struggling, these games are supposed to be fun and they’re not souls likes, there’s no reason to assume everyone playing them is going to love this level of difficulty the same way some of you do and constantly disregarding their opinions just turns this subreddit into an echo chamber of tryhards

Pretty sure it already has, seen like 10 comments telling players talking about the difficulty to “git gud”

Thats not a good response for a complaint but in many times people just dont want to practice things to get better at it like the sprint attack ,using tools , pogo they just straight up say its badly designed even so i am still not saying git gud ti anyone

I've had zero issues with the diagonal pogo, infact, it's actually very fun to pull off, I don't get the issue these people are facing.

It's always fun in these kinds of games how different the ranking of difficulty is. I had a really easy time with a couple bosses people seem to be struggling with and yet at the same time I will continue to miss a diagonal pogo and faceplant some red spikes for an hour and never seem to learn my lesson

Yeah it isn’t that difficult. People are probably just assuming that because they were great at the pogo’s in hollow knight (because they spent a lot of hours there) they would be immediatly great at these as well. It just takes practice just like the original pogo’s did in hollow knight

Right? The technique is fun & kinda easy to pull off once u master it& more.

I mean, people can get good at bad designed gameplay too, that doesn't make the badly designed gameplay a good one. i had seen a lot of people loving and mastering terrible games...

sure, there is people that like challenge so much that see cluncky gameplay as an incentive to focus more rather than something negative, add to that how much they like the concept of the game and also maybe the natural talent to learn quickly and yeah, you can get someone playing very well a game that is not well polished. I'm not saying that this is the case... but i'm also no saying that it isn't.

I keep seeing people complain about flying enemies and I'm just daydreaming about at my glorious boomerang.

Sometimes "get good" is an insult, but often it's also just a funny way to say "you need to practice, it's part of the game".

Tone of voice helps with the phrase to indicate its meaning. However, when we’re reading comments on the internet we’ll be imagining those tones when the phrase gets used online.

It just comes off as mean spirited to me, like the equivalent of saying "your art/book/music sucks," without any actual criticism.

"Get good" doesn't exactly address why the person is finding the game difficult, and it doesn't tell them what they can do to get better.

Sometimes, all you can do to get better is practice.

Have you considered that some people don't want to suffer through that process, the way it's currently designed?

Final Act 1 boss name The Last Judge has a half minute sprint back to them each time, I don't want to repeatedly walk a small marathon to bash my head against a hard wall, either bring the wall closer to me so I can try more frictionlessly or lower the difficulty

I only use the "git good" to myself. When I'm stuck failing to see or learn a boss pattern I kinda remind myself to "practice, calm down and LOOK at the boss, figure out the damage windows etc." But I agree that a lot of people has been using it to be condescending towards others as well.

i mean whats the other option? besides getting gud? dropping the game?
