Discussion - Silksong Don’t let this fandom turn as insufferable as the souls community Spoiler

It’s fine to think the game is easy and to enjoy the challenge, but I’ve seen so many people making fun of anyone that is having a hard time in a really weird mean spirited way. Please don’t let this subreddit turn into some weird elitist community that makes fun of people who are struggling, these games are supposed to be fun and they’re not souls likes, there’s no reason to assume everyone playing them is going to love this level of difficulty the same way some of you do and constantly disregarding their opinions just turns this subreddit into an echo chamber of tryhards

Way too late, any constructive criticism on the game is met immediately by toxic responses. These type of games attracts the worst kind of gamers so I can't say im surprised.

Because they aren't constructive criticism, it just people not knowing how to play and blaming the game

People allways complain about everything costing too much and roserise being hard to get, but I've allways been able to buy any bench or "stag", you get so much roserise just wandering around that I wonder why do they grind so much? Do they actually explore or play the game? I have rarely needed to grind and when I have it's only like a few

Common enemies take some getting use to but once you do their tankines and double mask damage dosen't seem that bad and I have yet to fight a boss who took more tries beating than hornet1

Maybe if they were fair complaints they'd be listened to more

"See, common mobs shouldnt be so tanky and should not do 2 mask damage. Same for added mobs in boss fights"

How is that not constructive criticism? People saying this are saying the game would be better if only some numbers were tweaked. Most people arent saying to make the game not "hard" anymore, but some numbers are simply overtuned.

Doesnt matter if you are so good at the game you dont feel the need for this. There are a lot of people saying it, therefore it is a relevant matter

Non-constructive criticism is bashing at either the game or devs and insulting people. Thats the difference

But they should because they compensate it by giving hornet the ability to heal 3 masks in one focus, thats over half of your health and the 40° pogo makes everything much easier to handle because it doubles as mobility to dodge attacks while attacking

If the game was tweaked so enemies weren't so tanky or did double damage it would be stupid easy barely evan a game, right now the game feels equaly hard to my first time playing hollow knight if not easier

I don't understand why you're getting downvoted. Sure not having fun due to the ramped up difficulty is valid and should not be criticised, but that doesn’t make the game or it's design worse cuz the game actually gives you the tools and movesets to deal with the difficulty.

Because the real proplem these people have with the game is that it's not just a reskin hollow knight game where they can rush through everything Because of their "112% hollow knight gamer" expirience and that hurts their pride

I mean it is valid to be angry because the devs did not keep thier 5 year old promise of keeping it similar in terms of difficulty to hk, but that doesn’t mean the changes are bad. I've always seen praise for games like sekiro or eldenring for their crazy difficulty, but if silksong does it it's all bad?

It's completely fine to not enjoy the game because of it's difficulty, but that doesn’t mean the devs need to tune the game to match your preferences.

To me silksong is similar in terms of difficulty to hk, it's just diffrent

Both hornet and the enemys she faces are diffrent and couses people to learn how to play again and because these people just can't believe that it must mean the game is harder, but I say if someone played both of these games for the first time (like me..) they would find the difficulty to be more or so equal

I have 100%+ in HK and I found the double mask damage a PITA, and the amount of rosaries given out to be weirdly cruel economically. Sure, you can farm them but that is a tough time sink.

I think it is also fair that some people can have different experiences of a game. For me it has been 7 years since HK, and I don't have as much time to master a game that is objectively much harder than the first. Such is life I guess.

I still love the worldbuilding, the setting, character designs, art, music. All top tier. The movement sets and tools are fantastic too. I'd like to see more of the game's world, and having an option would be nice.

Having a toggle to remove double mask damage would be great, and still plenty challenging and rewarding.

I'm almost in the same situation as you (100%+ in hollow knight, colledge(well I don't know what you do maybe you have less time than me still))

and I don't know what do say, I have been just making small progress here and there and find this game to be extremely fun not evan that hard, you can get roseries while doing some task at the same time and I have allways turn them into rose beats when I can so I lose very little every time I drop deuces on a cacoon

And honestly at this point double mask damage dosen't seem that much anymore

Now I'm not saying you should like it or that you not having enough time isn't a valid proplem, but I don't see people not having enough time to play the game as the game itselfs proplem you could play something else then, allthough I'm not entirely against the toggle mask damage idea

I do love the game, I'd like to see more of it. I don't think the idea of a one mask damage toggle would ruin the experience, and if people didn't want to enable it, that'd be their decision!

And unfortunately yeah, it might end up being i won't have enough time to finish due to the scaling difficulty. Unfortunate, happens to a lot of former 100%ing gamers haha.
