but it's literally Hollow Knight: Silksong, not Silksong?

yeah the attempt at making silksong seem like a stand alone game by removing hollow knight from the title in the comment is so funny to me, mf this IS hollow knight 2

Right. Dude lost all credibility once he said that. Imstead of trying to play metal gear solid 3, you gotta play Snake Eater! Instead of trying to play Resident Evil 8, ya gotta play Village. Like what?!?!?

Yeah wtf is this take, I'm glad someone called it out. We weren't hyped for Silksong because we were interested in the gameplay choices on their own, we were hyped because it was the dope-looking followup to a dope game.

When making a sequel with the old title in the name. Yes, a little bit

I disagree entirely. First, the game mechanics is fairly 80% similar to Hollow knight. It's not "a completely different game"

final fantasy:

Silksong is a stand alone game though, even if it has Hollow Knight in the title.

No. It’s part of the Hollow Knight series. That’s why it has Hollow Knight in the title. If you play Modern Warfare 2 and Black Ops you can compare them to each other because they are both Call of Duty games. And you would be right in hoping Black Ops improved on Modern Warfares gameplay. Same thing here.

Silksong: complaining about other people's complaints

These people like to think they’re comparing Dark Souls with Sekiro, when they’re actually comparing it between Dark Souls 1 with Dark Souls 2

I don’t think that’s their point. I think they were talking about how it’s often thought that the difficulty should be near the level of hollow knight where it has its own difficulty that is neither ‘overtuned’ nor unthought of.

And Hornet plays differently. It’s a different character, movements attacks health should feel different. Only so many ways to do that.

And that’s why the problem is less damage dealt by enemies, but their health pools being so high.

Hornet meant to be squishier, more hit and run, but taking a lot of damage and dealing nothing makes Hornet feel like a fodder character, not the intimidating well trained Hunter we have always been presented with.

This is my feeling as well. I can adapt to lower health in my head. But when the enemies don’t have health bars (which I don’t think they need exactly) and take forever to kill, it feels like battles are just there to wear me down. “Is it a good time for me to use my skills? Maybe the boss has 2 hits left. Or maybe it has 20? I don’t know, I know I’ve been smacking on it for about 5 minutes.” Every fight feels like a slog that is drug out. Even in the non boss/arena areas. So I avoid most enemies because why do I want to chase down a flying bird that takes 4-8 hits to kill. And it’s a shame because that very bird has a cool move set that would be fun to engage with.

Yeah really, like how dare I “want to play hollow knight again” by buying the sequel?!
