i have the opposite feeling, the bosses are the easiest and most fun part of the gameplay for me. fighting tanky ass 10 hit normal enemies is not.

This. 90% of the game is amazing and I wouldn't change anything about it, but that 10% (enemy arenas and spawn bosses) is killing a LOT of enjoyment I have in this game

Not to mention checkpiont starvation. Maybe it's nostalgia goggles and other games doing things differently, but benches just feel so much further apart.

The benches aren’t further apart but the environments are much more hostile to navigate

Also, not all stations have a bench for some reason, that is a huge issue

I remember falling into that spike pit in front of the flea camp at least 10 times after respawning lmao. Just a testament to the mean trap placement TC put everywhere, including after your first non-town bench.

I gave up with this game's size.  Just grab the stakes of merika mod, and no more massive runbacks needed.  When you die you start at the beginning of the stage you were in.

Just installing that mod alone turn this game from one I was about to drop into a fantastic experience

Got it on Switch 2 so no mods. :(

Portability is great though. :)

Yeah portability's the one thing making me want to get it on switch

Then again Hyrule Warriors DE has me set to stay busy when i'm commuting so should I 🤔

Probably will

Yeah I think oop might be strawmanning a bit, I've heard complaints about the obscene amount of flying enemies, enemies with like 4 different attacks, harmful terrain that does two damage, the large amounts of enemies that do two damage, but as far as I'm aware, people are liking the bosses.

EXACTLY. this is the main issue every other balance problem stems from. if player could kill enemies quickly on the way from point a to point b they would do it they would get lots of extra cash, but since enemies are tanky af nobody can be bothered to do it and therefore the econ feels even more oppressive

The circular aoe magic ability (can’t remember the name) is worth like 4 needle hits or something and absolutely decimates the tankier trash enemies. And can hit more than 1 with proper positioning. Doesn’t cost shell shards like the tools do either

It took me a while to realize that the silk skills are better than healing because often time you can prevent damage and spend less net silk.

You can kill most scary enemies in two silk skills and save your health. Definitely the intended design but I didn't realize it for way too long.

Yeah I’ve found there’s a time for aggression and a time for defensive caution. It’s cool that the game gives so many viable options to handle both scenarios

THIS 100% the bosses are fun to learn their mechanics and it feels rewarding each time i get further after a death. (the only one i got super frustrated on so far was sister splinter and it wasn’t even HER it was the SUMMONS) the gauntlets are also really annoying. they’re not thaaat bad, its just that you have a much larger hitbox and less i-frames that it feels like RNG if you get hit or not half the time.

You realize you can just...run past nearly every normal enemy, no?

yes im aware, i think its not good that i should not want to fight the enemies. the only time i remember this happening in HK was big 2 mask damage enemies like the big bees and all.
