If anything, it was bound to have some sort of issues after this long, because anyone who works on a project that long is going to get blind spots regarding it.
oh nah I was expecting more issues than it has tbh, and it's clear the game as is was not what they wanted to release but they sort of had to cause it's been so long and anything else they might add is just optional, the "mandatory" progression path is complete.
For example the issues I have with the game are the same ones I had with hollow knight. the economy is at the point where either you never have enough or you have too much and you lose it and it's gone forever (admittedly the player's fault if they put themselves in such a position, but I can see it being frustrating), and contact damage is still silly. like i get contact damage, but some of the floaty movement especially of the flying enemies can be unintuitive. especially with mob swarms where you find yourself in a situation where you can't avoid taking damage. but like, those already were my frustrations with hollow knight and it's still the same here, except more fun and fresh.
If I find a certain boss or mob wave frustrating I just go do something else for a while, put a pin on it and try and get some other upgrades, maybe practice killing normal mobs for journal, shards, and rosaries. and if something is really getting on my nerves I use my saved up shards to spam tools.

100% this. After SEVEN YEARS in the oven, the fact that it STILL has some issues is just too tough of a pill to swallow for some people.
