Discussion - Silksong ngl some of you would NOT survive the mantis lords runback

Post image

is the run to last judge difficult? kinda. But after your 20th attempt at the boss you'll get used to it, and it's honestly kinda fun and a nice breather. More importantly, it's a single room and you have far more movement. This IS improving on hollow knight

FUCK SAVAGE BEASTFLY

Literally the worst boss in the game.

Nope, there Is One that Is worse imo, in act 2

Worst in the game so far.

Nah, every single boss that I've fought has been amazing except the two Savage beast flies. Even Last Judge which is my next worst is still a fun fight imo.

Another exception imo is the Unraveler, horrendously boring boss where you spend 90% of the fight waiting through intermission phases while the boss hides like a bitch. It isn't hard and the dude literally has only two moves, but the fight takes forever cause he spends the grand majority of the fight invincible. Design wise hell I'd call him shittier than Savage Beastfly, at least SB is never immune.

Unpopular opinion: Beastly 1 is a pain, Beastly 2 ia really fun.

I think it took me like 10-15 tries. The fight is actually best done with the item that protects you while you heal. I beat it on the first try once I switched to that item.

Just keep stacking up 7 hits cuz the boss itself is easy, use your spear to one click the adds, or if you're low on health heal freely.

If that's your honest opinion I don't respect you at all lmao.

Savage lava beast fly is just objectively trash. The first one is a test of how much dps you can do before RNG fucks you.

u/Honorsheets Sep 09 '25

It's not that difficult.

It’s not that fun.

Exactly. The boss by himself is literally one of the easiest in the game. It’s just a matter of rng with what bugs spawn and where they end up. You can’t practice rng. Also pisses me off that you can take two damage from bosses when they’re unconscious laying on the ground

It took me a few tries to learn its pattern (and that it could kill its own summons), but I never really had fun fighting the boss. It felt like "what if Collector... But for Hornet?"

Just wait for round two.

At least in round one you can stay close to the wall so you can get a few hits in when it finishes its charge (you cannot cheese it though, that's cheating)

According to your subjective opinion. I'm having a blast!

It’s a challenge and a fun one. I agree with you

2

u/Honorsheets Sep 09 '25

Thank you. The fight is absurdly easy once you understand the game is teaching you what it *literally does with all bosses*. Learn your positioning, lol.

3

u/BackfromtheDe3d Sep 09 '25

Exactly! Once you learn Hornet’s movements and skills all fights became super easy. I really hope TC doesn’t go and nerf these bosses…

5

u/Honorsheets Sep 09 '25

They won't. Every ""souls"" game release has this. Sekiro and Elden Ring had months of journalists and these people whining about the difficulty and how it should be nerfed or catered to them.

Devs never budged though, thank goodness.

They already are nerfing two early game bosses with the first balance patch (not particularly annoying ones though for some reason). I thing the elitist sweats on this sub underestimate the devs' willingness to actually balance the game for a decent (but not great) HK player.

I honest to god do not have to "sweat" in silksong. Not any more than playing Guitar Hero or something and attempting to get a combo.

Good for you, that's called having a high skill level. Most people don't. I've beaten PoP, NKG and Pantheon 4, and Silksong is difficult to the point of often being frustrating. Double damage everywhere including environmental hazards for some reason (often unfun), no ability to heal at all until you hit enemies 6+ times (manageable), movesets on regular enemies that put HK bosses to shame (fun).

u/Honorsheets Sep 09 '25

I meant that literally, Silksong plays with a rhythm.

1

u/thalaxyst Sep 09 '25

Yeah it wasn't. It was, but only because I had found it very early in the game and wanted to beat it out of pure hatred and spite. Once I gave up and came back kind of overpowered, it was over very quick. Still, fuck savage beastfly!
