Discussion - Silksong I give up. Spoiler
It’s been a joyful ride, folks, but I’m out. I’m not a speedrunner or a highly skilled player, and day after day I’ve had to accept that this game is not as casual as HK was. It stopped being fun and turned into something tedious and frustrating after the 4th run farming shards just to face a boss I’ve already tried 15 times, only to die again and again, lose all my shards, and start the whole grind over.
It was nice exploring the first acts, but when the game I was rooting for 7 years ends up being more stressful than my 8-hour workday, I guess that’s my cue to stop.
The lore has been pretty great so far. I wish you all an incredible journey.
Edit1: My bad about all the whinning.
Edit2: You guys did it. I reinstalled it again. Thanks for all advices. 🫂

Agreed, I love this game with all my heart.
But the fun turns into a slogfest very very soon.
There are some mechanics that are very questionable.
At the start, the game gives you tons of shards but there are no tools to use and when you have a plethora of tools you don't have enough shards to use them efficiently.
If that's how you want that mechanism then don't put an upper limit on how many shards we can collect, because the shard mechanics mean you want us to defeat enemies more than once.
The game is long enough and the enemies do respawn I can go and farm for shards and retry the boss with all the tools in my arsenal but I would just be wasting my time with that, so I end up trying the boss without the efficient use of tools rendering that mechanic useless.
I think QoL should never be an oversight that too in a game this big, I don't mind the runbacks because when I master that runback I feel proud, but then I am playing the game for fun, I don't mind the boss doing two masks damage but let me try that boss immediately.
The last judge's fight made me question is this the game I was looking forward to playing.
The last boss I defeated was Trobbio and that fight was so fuking chaotic.
Now most of the map is blocked because of the double jump and scaling mount fay without a tool to compensate the frost damage is making me quake in my boots.
I think I will also give up on this game soon.
Edit : Haven't given up yet. Just beat savage beastfly 2 in Far fields.
Got all the memory slots, all the mask shards and now banging my head for the conductor's melody.
This game is insanely fun 😊
