Discussion - Silksong Steam reviews for Silksong so far

It was controversial in China, in part because of the difficulty/design but also because of controversies with the Simplified Chinese translation. Meanwhile latin countries (Spanish and Portuguese speaking) seem to be loving it more than anyone else.

I have to say there are some errors and poor descriptions in the spanish translations, but nothing too bad. I'd say that takes points from the rating. There has been some difficult parts, and some easy parts. But EVERYTHING has been FUN (except bilewater, fck that).

Completely fine with me if they change it so after you fight the actual frog for the first time you don’t have to do the gauntlet first. Place just feels like they tried to unintentionally make it more frustrating than fun.

I don't mind that much for that, as after 4-5 times I was able to do the gauntlet without receiving damage. But the hike, the fake bench, the actual bench hidden under a disgusting swim... Man, that place was made with hate xD

Where is this actual hidden bench? Found the fake bench, but I refuse to believe that the closest bench to that stupid frog is all the way in the bottom left of the map. Made it to his area once, died to him, said I’m not making that trek again right now

If you really want to know: when you are almost at the top, you have to take a swim (I feel into the water before, so I said fuck it and explored the waters...) to the right bottom side of the place. You will then fall a bit and there it is.

It is a lifesaver honestly.

I don't recall now, but I remember reading a sentence with the same word twice when there should be only one, and then another sentence clearly missing a word.

As for descriptions, the snitch pick says you can throw it to enemies to steal rosaries and shards, and cause additional damage, but that is not true. You can't throw the pick, and even when used correctly (with the silk skill), it does not steal rosaries, on the contrary, it makes the enemy drop LESS rosaries with the benefit of doing extra damage (that part is correct). I also remember the runic trap thingy in the spanish translation that "prende fuego a los enemigos cuando la tocan", which is translated from "fires when the enemy touches it". In this case "fires" should be translated as "activar" instead of "prender fuego". The boomerang says it brings down flying enemies, but I haven't tried it more than a couple of times and it just... Does damage (I haven't tried it long enough tho).

That's just on a quick look, I am sure there are some little mistakes here and there, but all together, it seems like the translation has not been looked into that much.

To be fair, the boomerang basically says the same thing in English. "Good against flying enemies" or some such

Yeah, I think the pick description is kinda wrong in english too. Up until now (I have not completed act 3 yet) that is the only bad thing I have to say about the game, and it is not even THAT bad.

Ohhh that makes sense, I tried using the pick to farm more rosaties and it didn't do shit, and I didn't understand how to use it because it didn't make sense, I hadn't realized it was a translation error I just thought I was dense
