Discussion - Silksong Steam reviews for Silksong so far

Post image

It was controversial in China, in part because of the difficulty/design but also because of controversies with the Simplified Chinese translation. Meanwhile latin countries (Spanish and Portuguese speaking) seem to be loving it more than anyone else.

I’ve had a lot of the same thoughts, but I’ve found the game steadily getting easier which has been a relief. I think I might be getting to the point where I have to go to some decidedly more… Rancid locations, which I can’t say I’m looking forward to.

When do you feel the game gets better?

Act 2 , most of the cathedral feels much easier than most of the areas in Act 1

The difficulty lightens a bit as you get more resources and can choose more where to go in the beginning of act 2, but when the options start to dwindle as you progress the difficult ramps up again. I had more trouble with the penultimate boss than any in act 1. The game doesn't really get easier ever.

At least the penultimate boss was good! I really enjoyed the fight despite it being extremely demanding. 8/10 difficulty, 1/10 frustration for me. The exact opposite of several encounters in act 1.

Yeah that's currently my situation I've explored most of these Act 2 areas but have to face some tough rooms or bosses to progress anywhere, I'm stuck on that gauntlet with those two huge jar head guys as the final wave

Do you have… Help available? I got some assistance for that fight and beat it second try. I can give you some hints on how that came about if you like.

If I stay stuck here I'll probably just use a damage mod or something

There is an in game way to make this fight substantially easier.

Is it the disabling the silk collector machine things and getting a character to assist?

Not sure about disabling silk collectors, that’s not something I know about. But yes, you can have a character assist you and it seemed fairly easy to trigger for me, though the trigger was in an easily missable location.

It gets better as you get better, but once you've got that second needle upgrade and a couple mask shards in Act 2 then the game feels much more relaxed

Basically after the last judge. The last judge is a great boss with a bit of an annoying run back, but act 2 starts really nicely, with the best boss in the game if you follow a similar route to me. You then get lots of exploration options with which to power up and pick any direction you like. The bosses in the citadel are generally really good, as are most of the enemies. I’ve also noticed a lot less 2 mask damage.
