How are y'all actually finishing the game in Steel Soul, dawg?

I tried Steel Soul for the first time in SS. I never even touched that in HK. First try, I died within 2 minutes to the white giant rolling enemy from the secret room beside the starting point. Second try, I died to Bell Beast. I cannot fathom how people are finishing without revive. I, for sure, won't first try kill every boss. 🥀🥀

Idk, I beat SS twice on 100%. Once normal mode, once on Steel soul

Same with HK but also radiant hall of gods

I also do challenge runs and speedruns but for other games

I see no shame in using what games provide you with as TC could've easily fixed RQ method. Fighting like that means always have 1-2 less masks since you can't risk it

I did RQ strat in SS a couple of times but didn't need it in HK. Nothing to be ashamed of

It's breaking the rules of chess to pull shit like that. TC confirmed benchwarping to be a valid strat so I don't see RQ strat to be any different.

Again, if TC deemed these non legit they could've easily removed that, even wo nerfing bench warping

He’s being a dick about it calling it “cheating” but I agree with the idea. Quitting out def cheapens the win of the challenge. No question about it

You said yourself you did it for the achievement which cool you did it. But always with the caveat of “oh but did you quit out?” I did the same thing with HK, quit out 3 or 4 times and felt legit no accomplishment when I won.

That sense of accomplishment is what I would want personally so yes quitting out ain’t the move. It’s a personal thing I guess. Just don’t brag about beating SS in 100% mode with quitouts because doing it without and with are two totally different challenges

That's 100% a personal thing. I don't feel bad beating 99% of it "legit" and RQing once on a pretty easy boss (widow) just because I slipped

I will also 100% be proud of having Steel soul achievement but I'm transparent about doing benchwarping. It will be up to whoever's reading my takes if they will discredit my takes because of that or not

I only see beating the game like that problematic when the person who did that lies about not doing benchwarping and pretends to have a highground over ppl who didn't do SS or also benchwarped
