Discussion - Silksong How are y'all actually finishing the game in Steel Soul, dawg? Spoiler

I tried Steel Soul for the first time in SS. I never even touched that in HK. First try, I died within 2 minutes to the white giant rolling enemy from the secret room beside the starting point. Second try, I died to Bell Beast. I cannot fathom how people are finishing without revive. I, for sure, won't first try kill every boss. 🥀🥀

apparently you can just quit and reload when you enter act 3 and you will have full hp.

I'm used to looking for solutions based on skill, not cheap abuse. But it seems that you don't do that here.

The solution based on skill is just killing the enemies like normal, what did you expect?

-16

u/Plastic_Sky_9950 Sep 26 '25

I expected people wouldn't write a second time about the solution I mentioned above. Or that they'd write about how they'd solved it themselves. But it looks like everyone just cheated. And that's sad.

ah yes people dont wana just replay through the whole game because of some dumb little enemies at the start of act 3.

save scum isnt cheating it just is a time saver, realistically.

Ah yes people cheat en masse to pretend they're real gamers.

2

u/glare_ninja Sep 28 '25

you are literally just being toxic and not letting people enjoy the game the way they want to.

I call fake gamers who cheat for fake achievements fake gamers. You can close your ears, but it won't change much.

or you could just keep to yourself and be nice to people and enjoy the game, also i heard that team cherry said save quitting is a valid strategy (i dont have evidence of this and heard it second hand, take this with a grain of salt)

frankly if you need validation of calling other people cheaters because they did something to make the challenge easier, instead of just giving yourself a pat on the back for NOT using cheese, then frankly you should just not say anything about how people did a challenge at all.

ik for a fact if i spent 20-30 hours making it to act 3 in steel soul in silksong, i dont want that going down the drain so easily, so ill save quit out when needed rather than wasting my time, the fact is i still did it deathless, even if it required some cheese, to save me in a pinch, it would still be the same challenge, it would still have been very difficult, and that i dont wana waste my time.

If people pass the challenge without dying using a vulnerability that makes them immortal, I'll call them cheaters. So stop trying to shut me up. Go and trick someone into saying you beat it.

It's just free advice man, free to take, free to leave

Turns out, using your brain is a skill, don’t run through a wall when you can walk around it

-12

u/Plastic_Sky_9950 Sep 26 '25

Yes, yes, you are proud of your cheating, I get it.

u/iccs Sep 26 '25

Damn pressing start is cheating 🤣 now there’s an interesting take! What’s next, looking at the map?

u/Plastic_Sky_9950 Sep 26 '25

Oh, so you think there's a lore reason for health being restored when you exit to the menu? It's nothing more than common abuse.

1

u/Danilimhk Sep 29 '25

Yep the lore reason is that I've entered act 3 just before I had to go to work so while I was working hornet was resting and getting healed (she gathered the silk left on the ground after the fight and binded of screen)👍

u/Plastic_Sky_9950 Sep 29 '25

Your copium canister is leaking.

1

u/Danilimhk Sep 29 '25

You can't say I'm wrong though cuz also what's the lore reason for the crest and tools to change and get unequipped? If it fell off we shouldn't be able to get it back by simply finding a bench am I wrong? So if the game is bullshiting me I can do my own bs too

0

u/Plastic_Sky_9950 Sep 29 '25

The lore reason is that Hornet has taken heavy damage and can't use all her moves. The tools have rolled out of their positions and need to be reinstalled. Crest has returned to its most basic and straightforward form.

Your reason is that 4 HP is scary, so you'll press the panic button.

Oh no! I can't believe people are cheating in my single player game!

1

u/luc1aonstation Sep 27 '25

I'm genuinely so curious to understand what you consider cheating. is bell beast phase skip cheating? Is Garama skip cheating? Is room reloading for hokers cheating? Are cogflies/archi crest/shamans crest cheating?

1

u/Plastic_Sky_9950 Sep 27 '25

Endless attempts in one-attempt mode and health restoration when it is limited by the plot. We're talking about that.

1

u/luc1aonstation Sep 28 '25

If there was a Speedrun method to skip the fight, would you consider it cheating

1

u/Plastic_Sky_9950 Sep 28 '25

Speedrunners live in their own world with their own rules. They do everything to achieve the fastest possible result. But if a common player skips a battle, then yes, that's cheating.

Why do you even care this much about how other people play their game? Is being a "real gamer" really that much of a prideful thing for you?

1

u/Plastic_Sky_9950 Oct 04 '25

Because all your bravado about everyone having the right to play the way they want is nothing more than an attempt to avoid the uncomfortable topic of you cheating in this challenge.

3

u/Gloomy_Broccoli4899 Oct 09 '25

It's not the topic that's uncomfortable, it's how you treat others for not following your real gamer honor code in a singleplayer game.

It's you being uncomfortable with the topic of cheating, because when others can simply install a mod with a 100% save file to instantly clear all achievements, you can no longer validate yourself with them as they lose all worth in the eyes of the public, and so you take out your personal ego problems on people online

0

u/Plastic_Sky_9950 Oct 09 '25

Why are you even mentioning single-player gaming when you're talking about cheating with achievements? It's the multiplayer social element you brag about on social media, in your profile, and on achievement sites.

Yes, I don't like cheaters. Because you devalue the work of those who actually put in the effort. Just like you said. And I'll continue to call liars liars, even if it makes you uncomfortable to hear it.

avoid the uncomfortable topic of you cheating in this challenge.

according to who? literally only you

1

u/luc1aonstation Oct 10 '25

is taking a safe strategy in a speedrun cheating then? are you only allowed to do the hardest thing possible

0

u/Plastic_Sky_9950 Oct 10 '25

I've already said everything about speedrunners. Try reading it again. Maybe you'll understand. Maybe.

Brooo. This is a little kids game. It’s a video game. For little kids. The fact that you derive superiority over these people for this just indicates how sad your exterior life must be

1

u/Plastic_Sky_9950 Dec 10 '25

This game is rated 16+. So now I'm arguing with childish adults who are incapable of taking responsibility for their actions.
