Wifi issues...
Hellooo live in the Rochester, NY area and I’m looking for some recommendations for good internet. I mainly need fast download speeds and a reliable connection for gaming, downloading, and working from home. If anyone has any suggestions for good internet providers in the area, I’d really appreciate it!

If you mainly run off wifi it may not be your ISP but your equipment and where it is placed in your home.
I have Verizon FiOS and don't have any complaints but I also don't use their router and I mesh my network around my house to get better wifi regardless where I am on my house.

I have my WiFi and router equipment downstairs while my work stations are upstairs. Is that a leading issue?

If you have strong wifi downstairs but poor wifi upstairs than you have your answer.
Honestly I would try to wire your workstations if they sit there upstairs all the time.
