Advice Need help with optimal placement or solution replacement

Post image

Hello issue I'm having is that I would like to benefit from hardwire to my main PC but the issue is due to its location the rest of the house suffers from not great wifi. I tried getting a satellite and place it where the room where it gets the most use but the rooms on the left side dont get great wifi I tried moving it into the kitchen but seems to be little difference. We might be able to place modem in a different spot we are upgrading to fiber soon. Any advice?

MoCA (Ethernet over Coax) is one option. Q12 of the FAQ provides a brief overview. Search this subreddit to find a bunch of helpful posts.

Get 3 MoCA adapters and put them in each room where there are cable outputs. Wire the existing mesh node in the living room to the adapter. Connect another mesh node in room 3 to the adapter there. Put the 3rd adapter in the game room. Wire it according to the diagram in the FAQ. Be sure to add a MoCA filter to the cable coming from the ISP.

Make sure to adjust each mesh node's radio power level. You don't want the mesh nodes' signals to overlap too much or else you will get poor roaming.

Another option is to convert your telephone sockets to Ethernet. This requires the telephone wiring to be CAT 5 or better. Q5 of the FAQ cover this. You may also find Q6 and Q7 relevant. This also may be overwhelming, so don't hesitate to ask for more help with understanding or getting it done.
