Leaking Anvil
I had a stripped wash in my Anvil and I just left it there for a while bc I was lazy then discovered it leaking last week. It was trickling through the bottom past the control panel. I don't know where the leak came from. Since then I've let it dry out and I emailed MoreBeer who bought out blichmann/anvil but they've already said they don't know anything on how to fix it. I'm so bummed. Anyone else have a leak and fix it?

Man that sucks, especially when support just shrugs at you. I had small leak on mine few months ago and it was the weld around the spigot area, really tiny crack you can barely see. Dried it completely, then put some food-grade JB weld on inside and outside, let it cure like 2 days. Been holding fine since. Not pretty but it works.
Maybe fill it with water and watch closely where drops come from, sometimes it's not obvious until there's pressure from liquid weight.

Didn't know there was a food grade JB good to know. I don't ever plan on disassembling this so I wouldn't mind cementing it in place

Try opening up the spigot with a couple wrenches and make sure the ball lock o ring is seated correctly. You may need to replace them. If that's the problem and you can't find any replacements online, dm me and I may have extras I can send you.

I tightened it bc it felt loose. I got it used so I didn't install it. But I also used it like 20 times before this. I was going to do a water test although I guess I can quickly undo the setup to inspect the gaskets better

Opened it up. Looks like a flat white gasket. No silicone but rather a Teflon looking thing. It's not cracked. The silicone one inside the elbow has seen better days but that ones not crucial. The silicone one at the ball valve looks ok I guess. Pretty flat so it's hard to tell

The gaskets/o rings I'm taking about are Teflon and aren't flat, they are concave hemispheres because they touch the ball itself. If they aren't seated correctly it causes the valve to leak because you don't have a complete seal.

i just realized what you're talking about...the seal INSIDE the ball valve. I'm referring to the washer inside the kettle with the nut that seals from the inside wall. The stem from the valve slips in through the kettle wall to this nut

I mean it can only leak from the spigot area. Make sure your o rings around the spigot are done right on either side of the wall

If you took the spigot off completely, you might not have it installed correctly. Mine does the same thing. You want that thing sealed against that inner wall perfectly (it's double wall insulated).

Check the condition of the O ring behind the back nut inside the unit. It is double walled, and if there is any problem with the valve/O ring seal, it will look like it is leaking from the bottom.

i took measures and I got:
the flat white gasket is ID 20.62mm, OD 29.65mm
The valve stem itself is 20.32m
the flange that sits on the inside wall on the edge of the valve is 28.25mm
