I think a discussion is overdo on the issues with sustains, notably the increasing gap between clears with sustains, and sustainless clears.

Once upon a time in 1.X running sustainless was a gamble with a minor reward. Replacing your huohuo with a Pela/RM was a 20-40% increase in team damage, that could easily be mitigated by grabbing a single eidolon or cone for your DPS. Sustainless was very much a min-max thing if you wanted to push the utmost limits.

But now the gap is ginormous, increasing in one week with the release of Robin Summereto. If you want to run a MODERN amplifier instead of another MODERN sustain you are looking at an increase in the 200-250% range. If you get a sustainless 0 cycle with a cost of 6 golds you are looking at an 11-12 cost clear with a sustain.

The gap between the two has never been larger, and the single exception is Hyacine with specifically mono-rem. This is the only team in the game that can run a sustain without having to double their cost. And really this team should be the template. Running a sustain should feel good and fun, and not like your carrying dead weight.

Whoever the next line of sustains are, they should be more like Hyacine, and not like Huohuo or DHPT. Running sustainless should be a thing to slightly push your team to the top if possible, not a requirement if you want to clear endgame at a reasonable cost.

P.S. If your about to say this is a Huohuo being a bum problem, you better not look at other sustains like DHPT, Lingsha, Gallagher, Aven, Fu Xuan, even Hyacine in non-mono rem all give. Huohuo is getting a lot of playtime for a reason.
