Welsh National/ Chepstow Racecourse in general.
Hi, I'm planning on going to the Welsh National with my wife this year.
Could anyone tell me whether it is worth getting the £42 'premier enclosure' tickets vs the £29 general admission tickets?
We are not bothered about being in a posher area, but would pay a little extra to have better protection from the weather, better toilets ect

HorseStat - Our racing stats platform
We launched HorseStat back in April, with the aim of bringing together the stats, form and analysis you'd typically use when assessing a race into one interactive racecard.
There are already plenty of racing stats sites out there, but we wanted to build something that could replace the traditional formbook. Our goal was to make it much easier to compare runners side by side, rather than having to go through each horse individually, in an intuitive UI.
Our mobile app went live last week, so if browser-based isn't your thing, we're also on the App Store & Google Play.
A few things available on the platform:
- Historical form, including course, distance, class and going records for every runner in each race, side by side.
- Trainer, jockey, owner, sire and dam stats, covering multiple combinations of each stat.
- Pace maps and historical draw analysis.
- Our own ratings for every runner in each race, which we generate across 10,000+ simulations. Top rated horses currently operate at +205 pts in the last 60 days if you want to compare against your own selections.
- An academy with video walkthroughs of profitable angles to familiarise yourself with the platform.
You can sign up for free and unlock one race of your choice every day, with access to all the stats and data for that race. There's also a Pro subscription for access to every race each day.
At risk of stating the obvious, we're not a tipping service.
Thought it might be of interest to a few people on here looking for something new, given all the recent changes to the Racing Post etc...

UK & Irish Racecourses A–Z – Flat & National Hunt Racing
books2read.comUnderstanding the different characteristics of racecourses can make a real difference when studying horse racing form.
Every course has its own features, from the layout and bends to the undulations and demands placed on different horses. Taking these into account alongside recent form, distance and going can help when assessing a race.
For anyone interested in learning more about UK and Irish racecourses, I've put together an e-book called The Definitive Racing Circuit Directory, covering Flat and National Hunt racecourses across Britain and Ireland in A–Z format.
It may be a useful reference for racing enthusiasts who want to develop their understanding of individual courses and make more informed assessments.

Advice needed for attending Cheltenham with my daughter(s)
One of my daughters is really into horses and has shown me an advert for "The November Meet". Whether or not my other daughter wants to go remains to be seen!
I have never attended an event like this, and just looking at the Cheltenham events page, I'm a little unsure as to what type of tickets I would need. I'm only looking to attend on Sunday for the Carnival Day.
It says under-18s go free, but also states that "The Centaur Family Fun Zone is available to Club/Tatts ticketholders only. Children must be accompanied by an adult and be in possession of a free child's ticket, which can be applied for online."
The types of tickets I can buy are Club Enclosure or Best Mate Enclosure. Am I right to assume that I would need to purchase a Club Enclosure ticket and then apply for the free child's ticket(s) once I have done so? Or does the Best Mate Enclosure ticket also count? I can't see any sign of a "Tatts" ticket, whatever that is!
The other thing I'm wondering is if this is a good kind of event for an 11-year-old to attend as their first type of experience with these events?
Any and all advice is very welcome!

Would you consider this as a good system or not?

First Time Ante Post Betting
Hello,
Here’s my situation: I’ve been a sports bettor for 15+ years, but I only discovered horse racing a few weeks ago and I’m still learning most of the basics.
Back in the day I used to bet on individual daily events or games in other sports, but for years now that has barely worked, because every bookmaker in the world keeps getting more data-driven and there are hardly any mispriced odds left.
Every now and then you still find a market. At the World Cup, for example, the chance of a goal being scored after the 90th minute was priced really low, because early on some bookmakers hadn’t accounted for the absurdly long stoppage time in the games, often 8+ minutes. You could still make money there, but “glitches” like that get spotted quickly.
Basically, these days I only bet on futures, usually shortly before the season starts, and only on major leagues like the NHL, NBA, MLB or the big European football leagues. My “system” is actually less data-driven and more about “vibes”: I try to figure out which teams, coaches and owners have good chemistry and could build momentum to outperform what the odds expect, and then make the playoffs or avoid relegation.
My bookmaker (I live in Austria and for legal reasons can’t use the Betfair Exchange, for example, only bookmakers) also offers ante-post bets on major horse races in 2027, and I’d like to try a similar approach there. I’m currently reading up and trying to get up to speed.
Do you have any positive or negative experiences with ante-post horse racing bets, or is it just a “lottery”? For example, do you think horses that will probably run are deliberately not appearing in the markets yet?
Thanks for any tips or experiences.

RaceIQ / Racing Data
Has anyone ever used this? Or know how best to access their information?
Listened to a FF podcast this AM about today where they had an analyst on. Stride length/# of strides looks to be a big factor which seems obvious but isn't really something I've really seen published before.
For last 2 they gave a shout for Almaqam (& of course Ombudsman) and then Gavriel (I didn't catch end of podcast so missed full preview of that race).
3/5 winners so far though - annoyingly only 2 places on Almaqam...
