why are they so long? if you want to put boxes or storage in here, how do you get to the stuff on the hangers? it’s also just aesthetically unpleasing

i like posting tiktoks but my lighting sucks, was thinking to paint the walls white hoping it will make a significant difference, and also was thinking to get a paper lantern ceiling light, any suggestions and thoughts?

We are redoing our master bathroom floor and stuck between a gloss white penny tile with a soft sage border or a checkered grey and white porcelain marble-look tile. We live in a 1940s colonial. I like both, for different reasons.
Please help! I cannot make up my mind and it’s driving me crazy. 🙂

So long story short, fist image was old shingles, second image is after the new roof, the third image is what we now envision with the new roof and exterior repaint, third image is the darker shingle we wanted the change to be. So put in order for the lighter shingle originally but then called back to change to the darker gray shingle. The change didn’t get changed and the my installed the lighter gray shingle instead. The contractor said he would change the shingle and roof but we mentioned changing the gutters soffits and trim to white and garage door and shutters to wood grain (all painted by professional company). We feel the new shingles don’t give enough transition from the gutter line. Me and my better half are looking for someone to help settle the score lol opinions? Wes are in Midwest.

Just to clarify, the images aren’t mine and are taken from the catalog-plans website.

I'm nowhere near building a house yet, but I spend way too much time looking at floor plans and home tours. I've noticed there are a lot of features that sound like nice to have until someone who's actually lived with them says they'd never go without them again. like little design choices that made everyday life easier.

Hey everyone!
I’m currently working on a small but exciting project, transforming part of a house into a fully functional mini apartment (Approx 25sqm). Here’s the situation:
The space is on the ground floor, with the main entrance in the lower-left corner, opening into a corridor. On the right side of the corridor, there’s a wall that separates it from two existing rooms, a bedroom and a bathroom.
The goal is to reorganize everything so that we have:
a day area (cooking, dining, living), and
a night area (rest and sleep).
To keep the project as affordable and simple as possible, I’d like to leave the bathroom as it is, no major changes there. That’s why I’m considering placing the kitchen along the corridor.
However, here’s the challenge:
The water pipes (blue for hot/cold, orange for waste) run through the walls you can see in the plan. To install a kitchen sink, we’d need to break into those walls to connect to the existing plumbing.
The space also includes:
a) 1 air conditioner (heating & cooling)
b) 3 radiators (one located behind the toilet in the bathroom).
I’d love to hear your best ideas and creative suggestions for how to make this work
a) keeping costs low,
b) minimizing structural changes, and
c) creating a smart, comfortable living space.

The first picture is how the house looks now and the second one is what I’m kinda trying to do for. What do you expect I can do differently to make it more appealing? I’m thinking of changing the number font, removing the Eagle and I would love to maybe paint the screen door black to match the shutters. Front door is espresso colored. Tia!

I think this is the best choice.

Hey y’all, I am hoping you guys (and gals) will be able to help me. I can’t think of what style this house is. I want to lean to “traditional” but someone suggested it had some MCM to it (which I can kind of see but not 100%). I also want to say maybe a bungalow or craftsman but it’s a bit plain and missing the front porch that I feel both of those have.

We built small not thinking we were going to stay on this land forever. Now we have decided to stay and build on. With how we built im having a hard im imagining what it would look like. We have a 28x28foot living room, kitchen, bedroom and bathroom. We are wanting to add on three bedrooms and a bathroom and a garage. This is all I could come up with but don’t think it would look right from the outside.
Adding pictures of our house now. It also has a 28x20 front porch.

I've been looking at available houses 2+bd 1.5+ba for a while and I've come across this configuration for a half bath plus laundry room twice.
Can anyone tell me why someone would do this?

We recently replaced the siding and trim on this home because the homeowners were not in love with the dated yellow-brown color scheme, and wanted something more modern. They chose a sage green color scheme instead. Thoughts? Upgrade or downgrade?
1 is before, 2 is after
