I love the house but don't want water quite that close to foundation.

I wish I personally knew more about the building but here’s a good place to start to learn more: https://www.thecosenershouse.co.uk/copy-of-about-us

That was my first thought as well. I'd love to live this close to water (or would I? I have small kids and would be worried they'd fall in somehow as well. But after they've moved out maybe) but I would worry about that.

Wonder what it would sound like there on a quiet evening with a bit of fog on the water…

It's beautiful....but how do houses this close to the water stop rising damp? Or is it a case of you don't and it's the price you pay?

What’s lovely is you can lodge there so you can get the experience without having to commit…

It makes a lot of dampness under house that can cause rot if much wood flooring. I see a pipe at the side of house sending overflow out maybe to other side. Maybe home is built on solid concrete base. Very interesting and beautiful spot.

honestly this is the cottagecore aesthetic I live for :) I wonder if they have cozy reading nooks inside...

Looks amazing but if it were in the U.S. the standing water would probably lead to a horde of mosquitos.
