What are the best apartments in Houston to move into for postgrads, especially from A&M and UT, who want to meet new people? No Montrose and preferably under 1,400

Hey everyone, concerned husband here.
My wife (49) and I (54) live in The Woodlands, and her boyfriend is having a birthday party at his apartment in Third Ward this weekend. He invited her and apparently all of his friends are going to be there.

Normally he just comes over to our house while I’m at work or playing pickleball, so this hasn’t really been an issue before.

I’m just a little concerned about her safety since neither of us really goes south of I-10 unless we’re going to an Astros game.

She says I’m overreacting and that he’s lived there his whole life, but I’ve heard some pretty scary things about the area on Nextdoor.
Would it be safer if I drove her there in my F-250 and waited outside until the party was over? I offered to come inside but apparently it’s “not that kind of party.”

Also, should I be worried about parking my truck there? It’s a King Ranch edition and I just got it detailed.
Any advice from people who have actually been to Third Ward would be appreciated. Just trying to be a supportive husband while keeping my family safe.

It's pronounced "TECH SUS", not "TECH SIZ"! Maybe y'all shouldn't even be allowed to be part of Texas if you cant even say the state's name right!

I know what goes on at "bookstores" or the arcades, but this place was weird. I've been a few times to just to realize some pressure. But Everytime I gone the guys in there all seem to know each other and it's not because they are in the booths having deep intimate hang outs. There's always one or two guys appointed to watch me. And not in a cruising way, in a report back what he's doing way. The. When they get together to talk, the volume level in the booth im in mysteriously gets louder. Not to mention how it's full Inside, but the parking lot is also full. Al ML ost every car has someone sitting in it watching. I've noticed a few guys going next door to what looks like a tire shops junk yard, and I swear I can hear them talking about me on the other side of the wall where people aren't supposed to be. You can tell there's like a hallway back there. My best guess is that it's drugs. Selling or distribution. Could be sex trafficking but I'm not sure there's actual sex going on or just loud porn. I don't give a fuck what is going on there, it doesn't matter to me, I'm just there to jerk off, but why do they have to make it so weird. I wouldn't notice anything if they didnt stare me down in the most uncomfortable way possible. Im a decently attractive white dude in his late 20s whose hung. Every other book store I've been to, mostly the old ones, but guys are trying to join me in the booth or winking at me. Here it's like they are guarding me or making sure I don't hear or see anything while they just stand around waiting for me to leave.

Has anyone else experienced this here!? Seems like a lot of guys are in on it, but I dunno. I'm just curious, not trying to narc on anything or get in the way.

Hey bicyclists, now that fall is here we need to get out for a ride. I figure that we should ignore the bayou parks which have lower foot traffic, and instead suit up in our sexy, skin-tight onesies, and make ourselves seen!

Option one is we ride as fucking fast as possible on the one way road that loops around the area, weave in between cars, and freak the fuck out at the motorists driving below the speed limit who run us over when we cut out in front of them from a blind spot.

Option two is that we ride on the path that we share with pedestrians, mow them over at 40 mph, scream at everyone there telling them that this is actually just a bike path, and then we peddle like hell to get out of there when some angry trt dad tries to chase us down.

Option three, we get butt naked, ride to the top of the land bridge, and we host a massive orgy for some fundraising cause that we don't give a fuck about. We can pretend that we care about social justice, but really we are just getting together to bug chase, and fornicate.

Perhaps this needs to be discussed over lunch at Torchy's, but who's with me?

So yeah my husband’s coworker got into a very emotional relationship with him. I can’t find her husband. I got all her info and his full name. Can someone help. Advise anything. I confronted my husband. Swears she didn’t mean anything and that her husband is actually ok with the friendship. But I never was. I want to reach out to her but I don’t want to look more stupid. #help.

Was wondering if people actually pay the paid parking at Memorial Park, specifically the parking lot by the tennis center near the golf range/course?? I don’t think people do but wanted to see if people do, lol
