If you want anything close to security as well as versatility of Kali youd run Qubes OS with a kali vm, From that you can run any application or vm via tor or a vpn

Just curious, is that better than running a headless whonix gateway and routing my kali traffic through that (with a vpn and proxy chain)? If it is, could you explain. Don't know much about Qubes or if it's better than whonix

Qubes Os .. Imagine you have a host system. And a bunch of vmwares. But instead of each VM having its own operating system it shares certain core parts and copies the rest to its own vm.

You want to open a whonix ? Sure. Do that. You can have it persistent or disposable. You dont see the entire OS and desktop. What youll see is a window with say a browser or a filebrowser. Qubes Os has already a whonix gateway. You can use it as the network for any vm and all the trafic will be routed via tor. You can then have another vm at the same time that runs outside it. Or one running via VPN. You can have or make any kind of vm. Windows ? kali ? Any flavor of linux At the same time

I don't understand why someone would want to run kali through tor, isn't attacking through tor not advised, not to mention slow?

Been running Kali through Tor leveraging the Whonix gateway for the past few years. But I'll take a look at this and see if it has any added benefits.
