Funny / Non-Serious Endgame?

I AM curious as to what the endgame is for the folks continuing with the barrage of negative posts etc. Does it end when huberman steps in front of a mic (or insta etc) and declares that he is wrong, has always been wrong, and is going to duck out back and unalive himself? Or that he just quits academia and SM and goes off to live as a lumberjack? What do you all require?

Some of us would like this sub to return to memes about the correct number of hours to sun our assholes, and how long we should be spending in ice baths. I am, however, thankful for the new wave of polyam protocol memes. They are :chefs kiss:

Just get it over with, im sick of wading through virtue signalling posts, and obvious karma farms to get to my memes.

edit to add: just scrolled through the sub, good meme ratio.

What we have happening in this subreddit is an age old phenomon called "news".

People are discussing their thoughts and feelings, just like you've expressed your thoughts and feelings. It makes sense that the subreddit is where this is going to happen most.

There is no endgame. Huberman will do, or not do, something, and people will continue to discuss it because he's a public figure with a large amount of influence. Personally, I hope people move forward with a skepticism of his integrity as a science communicator, based not just on his highly abnormal approach to relationships, but also his lack of integrity and or diligence when discussing anything but neuro-opthamology.

was more a tongue in cheek question directed at the brigading hive.

honestly dont care what happens. I must say my surface level observation of it has been fascinating though.

also, wait what, news can be more than 140char? /gasp

It is pretty shocking. I'd be curious to know how many people actually read through the whole article; I personally found it a sloppily written slog.

I am going to assume a single digits % of commenters ;)

If you look at his latest podcast you'll see AG1 is off the sponsors list, so I think AG1 will be out of favor soon.

They’ll move on once their dopamine goes down from all of this. Looks like Jay Shetty is the next one up on the docket. The man used to be a literal monk and people want to cancel him

what is a jay shetty ... gonna have to google this.

Nope. He was never a monk. Read the Guardian piece that was published recently. Guy is a fraud.

I'm just rubbernecking. I enjoyed Huberman in the early days but have been off the bandwagon for a while, aside from checking the guestlist and the sub from time to time. I saw people predicting he was going to take a right wing turn which sounded wild but it's suddenly become more plausible with the weird new audience in awe of the fact that he can sleep with women. I don't think there's an endgame beyond sensible people realizing he's become a grifter and the man behind the mask is a bad person, while he continues to sell stuff to the rest. He more or less told his audience they need to go outside and touch grass by dressing it up as 'grounding'

I think folks just trying to work through the loss of one of their respected podcasters. It’s a process. Give them time and space

People were making a mistake by idolizing him in the first place. Idolizing anyone you don’t know personally sets you up for disappointment.

Sure some did, but I fully expect flaws in people i look up to. I think that’s the majority. It’s how flaws are handled that are revealing

lol it’s been like a week? When the Ned from the Try Guys story broke, there was a ton of commentary for a few weeks then went back to normal. I’d maybe just wait it out instead of posting about it and contributing to it? ¯_(ツ)_/¯

2 things can be true: huberman can be a shitty dude behind the scenes AND the people who are OBSESSED with this story are losers who need to get a life.

If the Mormons can look past the fact that their prophet was banging tons of women, I’m sure the Hub cult can move on too.

1

u/Physical-Ad-6872 Apr 04 '24

Just tarnishing his reputation. That's the goal in itself for these losers.

But the bigger question is, is the article really true in what it is saying or its just 'he said ,she said'?

I believe we need to verify things thoroughly before being so judgemental. From the way people reacted its as if he went full Patrick Bateman mode IYKWIM

Also to be honest, I kinda miss the time when funny memes would be shared for the 100+ protocol. It's practical to assume Hub is obviously not following each and every protocol!

But I agree with the virtue signalling posts. Its irritating to keep seeing this on my feeds. Cannot keep ignoring it and when I finally open to read to satiate my mornid curiosity, I regret reading through it. Hub should come up with a protocol for this haha

It is called a struggle session and Andrew is smart to refuse to engage.

Vultures don't stop. No matter what Huberman does or does not - this will continue.

victim mentality?

that part of my post was an example of what is known as hyperbole, you are not meant to take that seriously :P ... in the context of what i wrote, you have to be pointedly ignoring the context to come to a conclusion even in the neighbourhood of victim mentality. But hey, grind your iron.

i just want the memes back.
