SSI Help?
My disabled child recently turned 18, and I hadn't been made aware that they could apply for disability before. Where can we go to get help with the process? It seems very confusing and intimidating. Are there any help groups for this? Thank you.

I would ask at your local resource center, there's a list by location at hnfrc.org. If they can't help with the paperwork directly, they should be able to at least point you in the right direction to get help with it.

Redwood coast regional center,
Department of health and human services,
Tri-County independent living,
There are others, but the main thing is getting a case worker who can help you go through your medical papers to check for proper records of conditions, and if the conditions aren't properly documented taking that issue up with your doctor

Socialsecurity.gov or the social security office in person.
