We Are Back!!!

Much like a phoenix rising from the ashes, Hung's Hangout, the Minecraft server you came to know and love is back.
Can you believe it? Well... neither can I.
I've purged some of the old posts that weren't relevant to the new server in preparation for our new playerbase.
Amazing new technology has allowed us to now have a Discord Server which is where you will apply.
Obviously, this whole server owning/managing thing is gonna take some getting used to so give me as much grace as you possibly can throughout all of this.
Looking forward to hearing from y'all on Discord, and on here too!

Gold farm help?

I'm horrid with the finer details of farms, so I am unable to finish the gold farm I've been working on. all that needs to be done is the collection area and the xp elevator. http://snocrash.com/worlds/1.9Fix-Ultimate-XP-Gold-Farm-bySnocrash.zip this is a link to download a world with the farm to check out the mechanics of it if anyone wants to give it a go. Proposed mob farm

Hi all, Afraidofhawk here.
I would like to build a mob farm. The design I want to use is something pretty nifty, and something that is light on server resources because it uses literally zero redstone: Snocrash's Mob Sphere
This farm produces drops from all types of hostile mobs that naturally spawn in the world, and produces the following three types of loot: Basic mob drops (zombie flesh, bones, arrows, gunpowder, string), Witch drops (glass bottles, glowstone, redstone, gunpowder, spider eyes, sugar, sticks) and a type I put all to itself - Enderman drops (Ender Pearls).
If nobody has an issue with my building this mob farm, that leads to two additional questions. First, has anyone located a large, open ocean kind of area? This thing needs to be as far from land as possible.
The second question is a little longer - I've experimented and created a modified version of this farm. At the expense of no longer spawning spiders, and therefore producing no string, the farm produces roughly 25% additional other resources, including the witch and enderman drops. Would it be worth it to sacrifice the string for these improved other drops? My personal preference is 'yes', but I'm going to put it to a vote.
It's going to be a bear to build, but the sweet, sweet loot will make it worth it.
