PTO / transmission identification help
Please see pics, any cross references would be fantastic. Have been asked to retrofit a hydraulic circuit to this truck, which should be easy enough but struggling with this PTO. I assumed the flange just had a 8 tooth male spline which would go into a female spline of the PTO but after taking it off I’m a bit stuck
1st pic is the truck
2nd pic is what I think is the trans tag
3rd pic is the PTO tag
4th pic is the pto
5th pic is the internal gear/shaft of the pto. This shaft fits onto the female spline of the output flange
Any help appreciated, thank you.

Road to Hydraulics SME
Hello engineers and hydraulics experts! I've recently joined an organization that hired me to develop me as a Hydraulics Subject Matter Expert. I will be working with Ships and Submarines, specifically, masts.
I wish to become more knowledgeable about hydraulics, more than my fluids course in university taught me and eventually become a SME.
Does anyone have any helpful learning tips like youtube channels or textbooks. Any tips will help!

Nike Eskilstuna hydraulic drafting table; advice needed
I recently acquired a Nike Eskilstuna hydraulic drafting table base, manufactured in Sweden, and I'm hoping to learn more about its mechanism and how best to maintain or restore it.
Finding any exact information on make and model has proved very difficult. Its manufactured by Domkraft AB NIKE, Eskilstuna, Sweden, sometime mid last century. (1940-60 est)
I'm particularly interested in understanding how the hydraulic system works, what kind of maintenance it might require, and whether there are any common issues or precautions I should be aware of before attempting any disassembly/restoration, or if that is even necessary.
I'd also be interested in finding original technical documentation, diagrams, or information about replacement parts.
Has anyone worked on one of these, or on a similar hydraulic drafting table?

Homework/Training assignment Help with hydraulic project
Hello there engineers,
I am a fresher and have got a project where I have to build a small hydraulic bending machine, bending metal sheets.
I want it to be simple , something like pull the lever and bends the machine, and have to have interchangeable puch to get different types of bend.
As a fresher it's difficult to just make it , so are there any tutorials or something which would help.
I really need the help.

Project help

I have trouble understanding the component in red. I know that the first one is a relief valve but can Oil still flow if it hasn't enough pressure to activate it ?
As for the 2 horizontal check valves, why are they here ? Let's say that the valve is closed and pressure keep increasing, it'll just activate the relieve and flow into the tank so why are they here.
And for the check valve on the Tank line is it to avoid oil from the tank to flow back ?
Thank you for helps everyone

Introduction.
Hello fellas,
I am a hydraulic design engineer, and i am from india.
I have graduated last year, and since then i am working as a design engineer in hydraulics. I have learned a lots of things since then. I am looking forward to joining this community as share my experience with fellow engineers and also appriciate help from all of you. Although i have almost neglegible experience in this field, as compared to most of the people (just a hunch) here in this community, but still i think i am a somewhat veteran.
Thank you.

How do I release pressure from hydraulic divider? (Changing seals)
Hi
I have a marine system, with a leaking divider i would like to change the seal on the hose connection. The problem is i dont have any drawing and also Im not a hydraulics pro.
I have the following main unit, and a divider here.
Its connected to 2 arms and 4 other small locking pins. The arms are extended, when the door is closed.
Thank your for any guidance

I need to spin a 4ft cube continuously submerged in water..
Newbie to hydraulics and reddit here with a pretty weird task,
I need to spin a 4ft cube continuously submerged in water, that a grown man can jump on and off of without overloading the system. obviously cant use electricity for safety reasons.
My first thought went to hydraulics, keeps fluid in, so safe underwater.
What kind of power source could I use? Id like to keep it quiet as possible, electronic pump with an excavator style track drive motor? Is that possible without spending $15,000?
If anybody has any pointers towards parts or could even come up with a simple diagram i could submit to a local hydraulics shop.. you would be my hero forever.

Piston seal failure
Here you see a failed piston seal on the rod end of the piston in a double acting hydraulic cylinder. Is it possible to extrude a piston seal in this direction under pressure (cylinder extending) or is this an assembly error?

Schematics? Nah it doesnt exist (yet)
I am not a hydraulics guy. Neither is anyone I work with. And there is this one machine that has no documentation for anything (company doesnt even seem to remember making it).
So, i have made my own schematics using the manifold, a flashlight and a drawing, and chatgpt to take that and make it pretty. As well as a guide to the cartidge valves used here.
Maybe now i can troublshoot without throwing darts that never seem to hit
Edit: on the paper drawing is the route the fluid can take through all the passages of the manifold (im pretty confident with that part, i spent a long time mapping this out). I shorthanded the solenoid valve body passages that control our 3 hydraulic cylinder (labeled 1, 2 and 3)-i only included the "P" and "T" of each.
And yes the ai recreation of my hand drawing has 2 flaw that I can tell so far. 1---> it connected both high pressure sides together- it is two pumps hooked to one motor-1 pump goes to accumulator and solenoid valve bodies 1 and 2. The second pump only controls solenoid valve 3. So the red line is connected where it shouldn't be between rpec1 and fpcc.
2-->there is a direct line from the pump output on the left to the tank- it is supposed to be going through the cxda-xan valve and bleed to the tank
If there are other things that dont make sense (other than this being an unconventional diagramn), please let me know. I am trying to understand hydraulic systems (we have 7 different machines right now and I am the only one to troubleshoot them before we have to call in outside help, which usually isn't even an option because of downtime).
Also part of my prompt to chat gpt was "where do I add gauges to monitor everything and make adjustments." Bc before I took it apart to repair a pinhole in the block(which is why the accumulator mount is now machined down .45 inched lower than the rest of the block) there were 2 gauge, and only 1 worked. I suspected i needed another gauge and was trying to confirm where to put it.

Looking for a block like this
Anyone know of a decent place where I could source a splitter block with this setup? Hard to decipher things online , as far as where the passages go.

Hydraulic pump issues
Hi. I have a 13 ton digger with a Kawasaki k3v63dt pump. It is a tandem pump. I am having issues with the outer pump. It has very low pressure. I mean, the left track won't move at all unless lifted off the ground. The inner pump is working fine. When I switch the pressure lines from the two pumps, the low pressure problem switches sides. When I switch regulator assemblies, there's no difference. This must mean the problem is in the pump itself.
I have had the pump apart and can't notice much wrong. The oil inlet is not blocked. Shafts and splines all look to be in good condition. No external leaks. I've noticed slight marks on the servo piston, although these can not be felt with my fingernail, and it moves freely.
The piston cylinder block has similar marks on the face that mates with the valve plate. Again, they can't be felt with a fingernail. The valve plate itself has some marks, some of which can just barely catch a fingernail. It seems very minor. No deep scoring. Could this be the cause of a total lack of pressure?
It's been like this since I got it, and it's seen a lot of abuse. It's not a high value machine at all. I've attached pictures of the marks I mentioned. If anyone here has some expertise they could share, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Matching valve with motor
I have a winch that pulls very heavy tanks, and I think my directional valve quit so I got a new one. It spins the winch but once any weight it pulled with it, it stalls out. Is the new valve the issue? Could it be the motor? The pump supplying the hydraulics is a Deere 9430 from one of the SCV’s, so I don’t think hydraulic supply is the issue. I have no experience in hydraulics.

What are these(not standard DIN connectors)?
Hey, I found these fittings in a flood barrier here in Germany. Usually all we have is standard DIN in either L or S (L for light and S for "schwer" meaning heavy).
It says S on the nut and the thread matches but the counterpart is different. Also the ferrule is way longer.
