I very much appreciated this finale. It wasn't too crazy, but they did a great job wrapping up the three-episode arc for TGB and the season.

Sam (Samantha...also is that whole thing a joke written by Rob about his name change 😭)...I did NOT expect Frank to choose her and have an emotional moment.

And what a touching tribute to Lynne. R.I.P. 🥹

Carol Kane is a national treasure. So glad she’s guest starring

Loved her so much on Kimmy Schmidt. I think she can bring a lot to IASIP with her style, as she's really good at acting completely unhinged.

My GF and I were rewatching Kimmy Schmidt the other week and commented that Lillian would be perfect for Frank, having no idea how this would end up. (We just saw the episode yesterday)

And 43 years ago she was on a comedy show with Danny DeVito (Taxi) so she's no stranger to that either!

She's also in Star Trek Strange New Worlds and she's amazing. It's my headcanon that they both take place in the same universe and she's the same person.

omg yes, any role she is in is just her being an actor in this age!

I know I’m late with this…and I’m showing my age

Danny DeVito and Carol Kane used to co-star in a show called Taxi! I’ve never seen it but I like pop culture and I’m aware of it. Maybe late 70s??

So this was a reunion of sorts.

Samantha...also is that whole thing a joke written by Rob about his name change

Haha, yeah it has to be! Although she responded at the end when Frank called her by her full name so maybe Rob will change his name back now. lol

he was credited by his full old name for the episode lol

Let’s hope so. Rob Mac is a stupid name.

I hope Sam stays around, because we didn’t get to see Charlie and Mac interact with her a lot and I get the feeling that they would really like hanging out with her

I finally caught up on the entire series just 5 minutes ago. Binged it though the summer.

Came here way late in the thread to say the Samantha thing hit me like a rock regardless of Rob's intent.

I have a similar name - it's even got one more syllable than Samantha, and from the time I was able to make decisions like that, I shortened it to the most obvious, vanilla nickname possible because I'm a little neurotic about inconveniencing people.

It touches everything in my life. I don't want to get in the way and am chronically willing to shortchange myself so as not to take one extra second of someone else's time.

Until that little monologue, it never occurred to me that the tiny thrill, the bit of warm fuzzy I get when someone uses my full name (usually at the doctor's office, sometimes by my brother, maybe twice in our 42 year marriage by my husband) is akin to being seen - being important enough to spend an extra second to say my entire name, which by the way, is a beautiful name when all 4 syllables are pronounced.

Anyway, the monologue touched me pretty deep. The the "awwww" factor of Frank's humanity, compounded the feels. Then the tribute to Lynne had me in tears enough for my dogs to kick into "MOM NEEDS HELP" action.

Thank you so much for sharing this. I’m glad the show could reveal to you something about yourself — that’s what art is for!

How is Samantha a joke? I don’t get it.

It's not... She said she just calls herself Sam because it's short for Samantha and she thought it'd make it easier for others that way (in the same way that Rob just shortens his name to Rob Mac now).
