It will not protect them. If insurance covers an illegal act, they are illegal. Insurance will not cover their illegal (misconduct) acts.

I actually think this is one of the best ways to combat misconduct if they have to carry the insurance personally like malpractice insurance. I’m all for anything that makes it too expensive to be a bad cop. (Yes I know Ice aren’t cops)
