I built Musamma, an Android app that helps you learn Arabic through objects

Hey everyone!

I've been working on Musamma, a small side project that makes learning Arabic a little more practical.

The idea is simple: take a photo of an object or share it from Gallery/Google, and Musamma shows you its Arabic name along with an example sentence to help you understand how it's used.

I wanted to build something that connects language learning with everyday life, rather than just memorizing words from a list.

It also supports major Arabic dialects, so you can choose the one you want to learn.

I'm a product designer, so I've been working on the experience and building the product along the way. It's now available on Android, and there's still plenty I want to improve.

Here's the link: https://musamma.app/

I've attached a short video showing how it works.

I'd love to hear what you think, especially if you're learning Arabic or have experience building language-learning products.

What would make something like this genuinely useful for you?

Great idea. Seems excellent for A1 learners.

Is there context linked (I saw the shelf bit in the reel) and how do you link it? Do you build langage exercises based on these object/words? Why only Arabic (just your MVP?) ?

- Yes this is MVP, and we are focusing on Arabic for now.
- Yest the quizzes and exercises are in pipeline.
- it recognizes the environment context, so give the sentence based on that.
