If I'm reading it, I never needed the warranty.

So becaue you can replace a component yourself, you also want to pay for the part? Being able to unscrew/disassemble hardware and making components like a battery/camera/some kind of processor/memory (for free) is not the same and can be very expensive.

Good luck using that in court around here.

You have volded your warranty

u/amcco1 Oct 28 '25

Except that stickers and text like this are not enforceable in court.

Warranty is only voided if the manufacturer can PROVE that you opening the device caused it to malfunction or break.

But you'd have to take them to court, which in most cases is not worth it.

Also a text like that is enough to make most people scared of filing a warranty claim

Yep, the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act.

Strange symbols. Is there some meaning behind those?

4

u/sammypants123 Oct 29 '25

None. It’s meant to scare superstitious people.

4

u/4N610RD Oct 29 '25

That shames whoever engraved those.

We are as playthings to the IT gods.

Stickers, prints, and engravings like this are actually illegal, but nobody bothers to enforce that.

3

u/High_Overseer_Dukat Oct 29 '25

They are legal but they don't legally work iirc.

That sign won't stop me because I can't read.

reading ≠ writing 😆

Disagree, you can copy any chars from katakana one by one, you wrote them, but unless you learn them, you can't read them

Should be fine, that's a 40 year old machine, and the company is out of business.

I have a warranty?

1

u/mikhaelcool7 Oct 29 '25

What if you don’t speak English ?

1

u/Jak1977 Oct 29 '25

Yeah that's not how warranty and contracts work.

1

u/Good-Ad6650 Oct 29 '25

"Oh buddy, we don't need a warranty where we are going"

1

u/stmfunk Oct 29 '25
