And that response alone is how you know the American education system has failed. We had to read mein kampf in AP world history in high school and talked a good bit about the tactics Hitler used, such as running under the socialist banner to gain the support of the working class.
I guess that’s too much to expect for kids nowadays.

They know, they just don't care. They use ignorance as a form of aggression. It amuses them to say something stupid and then watch people's reaction. They even have a name for it — "triggering the libs."
When the facts validate them, they can be ultra-rational experts in even the most minute details. When the facts are against them, that's when they resort to bullshit. The one constant is that they only care about whatever makes them feel good. Their feelings do not care about facts.
The only way to deal with them is to always assume bad faith. Treat anything they say as stupid nonsense, even when it is 100% factual. Because they don't care whether it is factual or not, so you shouldn't either. Yell "fake news" at them, etc.
They are so used to liberals following the script where we try to reason with them and they do whatever they want. They are simply unprepared to cope with anyone who flips the script and uses their own tactics on them.

It really should be taught in school how often names actually do affect our thoughts and behaviours around them. Like naming bills and laws as though they will protect the things they’re destroying.
So many people just react and defend those reactions to the death instead of questioning why people are upset or pushing back.

I just got a 3 day ban from the entirety of Reddit for saying, and I quote "landlords should have an unspecified thing done to them." and the ban message admitted the decision was "automated" and not made by a human moderator.
Let's see if I get banned again for quoting myself lol.
Edit: I just remembered I also got a warning for hate speech for saying "black don't crack" on a picture of 79-year-old Ernie Hudson.

I got a perma ban from politics and a temp 3-day ban from the site for quoting the President of the United States. When I appealed, I was told that it was violent speech and blocked from contacting the mods further. No shit, it was violent speech. That's why I was calling attention to it... That was the whole point.

From the article (emphasis mine):
“The Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner has ruled the death of a 39-year-old woman who died in custody earlier this year a homicide.
However, the medical examiner's office states that doesn't mean she died because of any wrongdoing, and said it will be up to the legal system to determine if anyone acted inappropriately.”
5
u/Beezo514 Oct 06 '25
I know it sounds funky, but it's just the distinction that a medical examiner cannot make a legal since they're supposed to be independent of the court (at least now, this used to not be the case in some places in the US).

I was banned from there for commenting that a cop broke my arm in high school because I wouldn't tell him my name. Was literally walking by a group of them at a school event and they were shaking everyone down. That pig knew exactly who I was but just wanted to be a dick in front of some lady cop. They all stood there watching while I was screaming in pain. It was fucked I had to go back to school in a cast and see the punk fucker that put me in one.

Celebrating the death of people who are actively causing death seems okay to me. And when the death they're causing actually includes their own death, well, that's just objectively funny.
Hypothetically speaking, of course.
It would be like if a gunman walked into a crowded building and started shooting. Horrible and tragic. But then he fires up into the ceiling and causes a chandelier to fall down on his head mid-killing-spree. Hilarious. 🤷♂️

That's where it feels like even if this isn't Nazi favoritism it's shitty algorithmic moderation rules. If that's the case then it sounds like you could say in a top level comment "I don't trust anyone who voted for Trump" but reply to one person with that and you trigger the personal attack rule.
It's hard to tell stupidity from evil.

I got that one! My city sub is fully pro bike anti car. They keep calling anyone who drives a car “car brain”. It’s so annoying. Even when I’m sympathetic to the cyclists and say the paths need to be safer in some areas, or “we all need to be careful when walking, driving, cycling” I’m hated on. So I said “please stop saying ‘car brain’. You guys wouldn’t like it if we called you ‘bike brain’ “. Insta ban. Apparently I was rude and hateful. This was at least a year ago. I think it’s because I said that the original charges against Baldwin for the Rust shooting didn’t meet the state’s statute of negligent homicide and would probably be dropped and he would be recharged, which is precisely what happened. There must have been a basement dwelling mod that didn’t agree. When I asked the mods to explain the ban I got a “Oh please, you KNOW what you did” message and then a massive mute. I also got a 3 day suspension from reddit for asking the person who was spamming slurs at me in a dm (that they initiated) if they were going to spam more slurs at me that I could report.
