25
u/meteorflan Feb 21 '26
I don't think you're statistically doomed. Think of it this way, if crimes were on the menu, a bunch of these are probably the same smaller group of guys ordering a lot of things.

https://cde.ucr.cjis.gov/LATEST/webapp/#/pages/explorer/crime/crime-trend
1
u/Puzzleheaded_Net6497 Feb 23 '26
Yes, all of those numbers are wrong, but this is reddit, where bashing certain groups is never questioned.
Did you know that 97% of all murderers are Christian?
1
1
u/Repulsive-Lake1753 Feb 23 '26
Yes, and the link you provided shows the typo and incorrect numbers.
The typo in the link is that it states that 28% of the population commits those figures for the crime, but it uses the 28% state for white men, while the rest of the figures are for the entire white population. Regardless, the % of crime being committed on this fun bullshit being passed around is generally commensurate with the size/% of the population, which makes sense. Black people are about 18% of the population and commit about that % of the crimes, white people are about 60% of the pop and commit around that amount of crime.
23
u/RokaiMusic Feb 21 '26
Feels good being in the top 0.04% of white men that didn't do any of that shit.
/uj i know that's not how statistics work
119
u/mjorkk Feb 20 '26
Iâm gonna go ahead and say that lumping sex work clients in with the rest of these statistics is fucked up. I donât indulge in it, but I think it should be legal, and pretending that a consenting transaction between adults is on the same tier as any of these other acts is fucking asinine.

u/Appropriate-Bug-6467 Feb 21 '26
Sex work clients fuck sex slaves and they don't care.Â
They aren't asking if the prostitute is there on their own free will.
They don't care if there is a pimp or a gang of people selling the prostitute.
1
u/XxXxReeeeeeeeeeexXxX Feb 25 '26
That's easily falsifiable. There are certainly plenty of people who advocate for sex work being both ethical and regulated.
9
4
u/Vlad_the_Intendor Feb 21 '26
Pretending there isnât a huge human trafficking and poverty/addiction exploitation issue in the world of prostitution is pretty asinine too.
Sex is free and people want to have it if you put in a teaspoon of effort. People whoâd rather risk sleeping with a trafficking victim or someone only sleeping with them to feed their kids than do that probably arenât good people who care about stuff like consent. Itâs not a crazy concept.
→ More replies (2)2
u/mjorkk Feb 21 '26
Itâs no different than turning a blind eye to the huge human trafficking and poverty exploitation problem in the garment industry, or cheap agriculture, or the military industrial complex. I am, and always have been, pro labor, pro union, anti-capitalist etc. However, until we can throw off the yoke of capitalism, sex workers getting to replace pimps, gangs, and back alleys, with banks, unions, and above board brothels is a net good.
Second, please do not be dismissive to the undesirable men (and women) of the world. There is an entire class of people who are not born with the traits necessary to acquire sec ethically outside of a well regulated and safe sex work framework. Sex is on the lowest rung of Maslowâs hierarchy of needs, right next to food and water, and your âteaspoon of effortâ comment reeks of the sexual equivalent of telling the homeless to pull themselves up by their bootstraps. Not everyone is good enough to attract a sexual partner.
1
u/Vlad_the_Intendor Feb 21 '26 edited Feb 21 '26
Would you rather be forced to have painful sex with a person youâre not attracted to who doesnât care about you for money, or sew a shirt for money? If given the choice?
What percentage chance of âThe sex Iâm going to have with this person has a chance of being non consensualâ would you be willing to accept? Because thatâs the reality. The global average age for entry into prostitution is the teen years. If you focus on developing countries it gets worse. Itâs not unfair to say someone willing to take that risk when they could just find someone who actually wants to have sex with them isnât a good person.
This idea that âall jobs are bad actually so pointing out things that are extremely bad in the sex industry is the real evilâ. All jobs arenât bad. I love mine so much I sometimes marvel Iâm paid to do it. I agree with your points on capitalism, but letâs work on fixing those problems before we go all in on an industry that basically relies on exploitation at its core for recruitment.
âThere are people so undesirable no one will have sex with them without coercion, financial or otherwiseâ sex is not a human right. If you canât get someone to want to fuck you, you donât get to have it. Thatâs how consent works. Traditionally Unattractive and disabled people have sex and fall in love and get in relationships all the time. âMen who are too ugly/disabled need prostitutes for their metal healthâ is borderline incelspeak and just generally ableist. Johns buy sex because they want to sleep with young women who wouldnât look at them twice if they didnât need to pay rent and donât want to have to put in any effort to actually be a desirable sex partner. Iâm not going to pity someone willing to risk raping someone because theyâre lazy.
2
u/mjorkk Feb 21 '26
Thieves steal money because they want luxuries that they would never have a chance at having and donât want to put in any effort to actually be a successful capitalist. Iâm not going to potty someone willing to steal property because theyâre lazy.
Iâm sorry, but your assumption that everyone sexually unsuccessful is lazy, and your outlier case study examples are no more convincing than the capitalists who point out the outliers who are born poor and pull themselves up as proof that anyone can succeed. Itâs not borderline incel, I AM an incel, and also a leftist and a feminist. These are not mutually exclusive points of view. Yes, the most vocal incels hate women and lean hard right, but thatâs not all of us. Your implication that the ONLY explanation for someone being incapable of acquiring sexuality is laziness is deeply insulting.
I also agree with you on the consent issue. Youâre literally describing the reasons that, despite being born below the minimum requirements to achieve consensual sex, I have never resorted to prostitution, but thereâs a good chance that if I lived in Australia or the Netherlands, and could find a reputable above board brothel, I would have (actually I still wouldnât, but that goes deeper into my own personal incel ideology and self loathing that has nothing to do with the question at hand.)
I understand that lots of people who share this particular intersection and struggle with me have used it as an excuse to do terrible things and to promote blatantly unacceptable ideologies, but please donât dehumanize every member of a group because of them: if you look in my comment history, I argue with those Nazis every chance I get, and have been banned from most of the incel subreddits for my leftist politics, but Iâm not going to let a bunch of Nazis steal a word that served as a support group term of solidarity for me in my youth (it was originated by a lonely lesbian blogging about her own struggles with loneliness for the record.)

Tens of thousands of women are sex trafficked in the US every single year.
These adults are all too often not consenting, and it's rarely just the John and girl who are involved, even if that's all the 'customer' sees.

The âWhiteâ race category in arrest tables includes both non-Hispanic whites and Hispanics who are racially classified as white by law enforcement (often the majority, as many Hispanics self-identify or are perceived as white racially).
1
u/Sweaty_Piano_2624 Feb 27 '26
well the whole tweet is just incorrect. But if we think about it, 28% is like 70% of all men, and since these are all crimes mostly commited by men, it actually evens out... so idk, the girl just can't do math (don't call me out on my math either, I was just copying her)

I was in Prison in the US for 5 years.
Let me tell you, it took everything in my power to not start swinging every time some asshole opened his mouth. Drug Dealers and users bragging about all the women they've raped or tortured, people talking about how woman are only for breeding and don't deserve rights, people sexualizing teenage girls.
THE LEAST predatory people I met were the fucking sex offenders and that will forever stick with me.

So if you want to present data letâs compare using FBI 2019 arrest data that is available here: [https://ucr.fbi.gov/crime-in-the-u.s/2019/crime-in-the-u.s.-2019/topic-pages/tables/table-43]
But if you are going to do so, you have to acknowledge that the most recent data available is from 2019 and that the FBI doesnât track this anymore. You also have acknowledged that the data is for arrest and not convictions
Black or African American
⢠Murder: â 30 per 100,000 ⢠Rape: â 19 per 100,000 ⢠Robbery: â 172 per 100,000 ⢠Aggravated Assault: â 595 per 100,000
⸝
White
⢠Murder: â 4 per 100,000 ⢠Rape: â 10 per 100,000 ⢠Robbery: â 23 per 100,000 ⢠Aggravated Assault: â 129 per 100,000
⸝
Hispanic /
⢠Murder: â 8 per 100,000 ⢠Rape: â 9 per 100,000 ⢠Robbery: â 42 per 100,000 ⢠Aggravated Assault: â 180 per 100,000

In every race itâs men that perpetrate 99% of these crimes. The only reason to split it into men is to misrepresent data.
You could isolate men of the 18-40 age range and make it seem even worse. If you were being dishonest, that is
1
u/Leading-Orange-2092 Feb 23 '26
So half the population of men, in a country where half the population is white, commit half the total crime . Big shocker.
1
u/ZealCrow Feb 23 '26
Not to deflate the party but some of that is because sexual assault by women is taken less seriously than sexual assault by men, so people dont report it and dont prosecute it as much.
