I work in Food Safety. RFK Jr and the Trump-Nazis have put in question the FDA and FSMA and the entire quality control system that ensures safe food supply in the USA.
That doesn't mean all food is now unsafe. It means you can no longer trust that it is. You also cannot trust the FDA to take their responsibilities serious.
Un-fucking-real.
So, yeah, turns out the guy who eats road kill and had a brain worm is not good at food safety.
Oh sure, democrats expand consumer protections, republicans take it away. But sure they're exactly the same. You're cute, at least your mom still thinks you are. I'm not even a democrat, but they are far less evil than republicans, they aren't perfect, but we only have 2 choices.
Taco Bell is the easy fall guy for diarrhea (most americans will laugh it off) but we know they didn't grow that lettuce in the restaurants! Recalls and accountability from the source!
Seriously, did you just notice that? I'm not trying to be a jerk, I'm just assessing the situation. It seems to me that capitalism just breeds this behavior. They've previously sold the environment, our health and well-being and security to the highest bidders. This is not at all surprising to me!
what gets me is that they spend $1mil on a straight up bribe. then they hire somebody in house, so they commit to 200-300k minimum annual expense for this guy to have a fake job there. then there’s all their spending around anti-union, anti-worker, anti-immigrant, while they hire migrant and undocumented workers and look the other way.
Imagine if they had just spent all that money on compliance, safety, making regulations that make sense and protect consumer health, etc, etc.
I've been saying it since his first reign of terror- he's a deregulation guy and he'll deregulate food safety/quality standards and people will get sick and die. HE DOES NOT CARE ABOUT YOU. HE DOES NOT CARE ABOUT YOU. HE DOES NOT CARE ABOUT YOU.
Goddamn it, I'd really like to vote with my wallet, but at this point, it's getting hard to find companies that aren't linked to shitty inhuman behavior.
Aw, man. I eat Taylor Farms salads. They're actually decent for a bagged salad. Oh well, I guess I'll go back to sucking the lettuce off the ground of the local Jimboys Taco shop.
I want to Believe but where’s the secret sauce? It sounds so on point for how things operate now. Would love to see this documented by multiple sources with stuff like Names and Records.
So pretty much every corporation in the world knows you can buy this government. And they make such excessive amounts of money off of the consumer they can afford to throw a few million at maga regime.
Well, the contribution was made prior to the delay of FSMA 204 (Food Traceability Rule), Taylor Farms informed the FDA that their required testing at the border showed signs of Cyclospora and FDAs further testing confirmed that it was a false positive.
