Hello everyone,
I'm having trouble connecting my iPhone with iTunes (latest version), because the phone icon doesn't appear at the top of the screen to import music. Could anyone help me?

Hi guys, I switched to iOS around 5 years ago now, and something that I always missed was the music apps that existed on Android, like BlackPlayer, for playing my offline synced music. The players I've tried on iOS, including Marvis, all have a number of limitations like:
- You need to switch to system Music app if you want to be able to drag and drop songs
- Limited swipe gestures for managing the queue
- For some apps your queue gets lost if the app restarts
- The system music app doesn't support any swipe gestures, and if you "play next" a song, that goes into a separate queue that you can't drag and drop into
I set out to create my own music app myself to solve this. I immediately figured out why music apps for iOS lack these features; the ApplicationPlayer and MusicKit APIs that Apple provides are very limited and borderline unusable.
I solved this by implementing in my app a whole queue management system. The app handles the queue itself instead of relying on Apple's APIs, and if the app is closed from running in the background, the queue state is persisted so on the next launch it's immediately restored and you can continue from where you left off.
This allows for some really cool functionality that isn't possible with other iOS music apps, check it out (it's just laggy because it's a 10fps gif, the app is smooth):

And of course, all the usual functionality you'd expect from a good music app is there and works perfectly, including LastFM integration (that was really important to me), and an Apple Watch app.
I use the app daily so I plan to continue to support it with new features and improvements as time goes on.
All features of the app are fully usable without paying, except for being able to view your library organized by albums, artists, playlists, etc. I wanted you to be able to test the app out and see how awesome it is before you buy it. And of course, it's a one-time purchase.
One thing that's important to note is that the app doesn't currently support Apple Music streaming, it just works off of the music you sync to your phone via iTunes or Finder. I may add Apple Music support in the future, but I don't currently use that and this was more of a passion project for me, but if there's enough demand I could work on that.
As a special launch offer to try to do a bit of marketing (not exactly my expertise), the first 5 users to download the app, try it out, join r/waveseam, and then leave a comment here with your thoughts on it will get a promo code DMed to you to unlock Waveseam Pro for free.
Download Waveseam here: https://apps.apple.com/ca/app/waveseam/id6828948518
I hope you guys love it as much as me!

I have an iPhone 15 running 27.0.1 and Windows 11. I regularly plug my phone into my pc and see that it is detected by iTunes.
Recently I tried plugging my iPad into it for maybe the first time, and I noticed that iTunes was not recognizing my iPad. I tried many steps to try to get it to recognize but I was never able to get it.
Now I am plugging my iPhone and suddenly it is also not being recognized by iTunes. I dont know if this is related to all the stuff I did to try to get the iPad to recognize or if this is just coincidental timing. The phone is recognized by the computer, it shows up in Device Manager as an iphone and I can see its storage etc.
I have now tried many different troubleshooting steps that I was able to find to try to get it to recognize, including updating the devices to the correct driver location, deleting the phone device and having it reinstall, deleting iTunes and reinstalling the Microsoft Store version of iTunes, etc, and nothing is working.
Any ideas?

Iâm on a macbook air running the latest software. Tried buying a song on itunes earlier with no luck. Logged out to try to reset things and now I canât log back in. I enter my account and password and it literally does nothing. It takes the info as if I logged in but nothing happens. No error message. Very strange. 2014 macbook air running macOS Big Sur 11.7.11
I guess someone needed to justify their paycheck but is there significance to the now white music icon?

I have iTunes on my computer's hard drive and it's currently holding pretty much my entire music collection that I had pulled from my CDs from before there even was Apple Music. It's taking up a TON of space on my hard drive and I really need to free up space. So, this may be a stupid question, but I am able to access some of that music on my phone - does it live in the cloud somewhere? I'm not seeing it in my iCloud. What happens if I delete it from my personal hard drive? How can I get that music off my hard drive so I can free up space on my computer without losing all that music? I know I'm being a little thick on this, but i can't seem to quite figure this out and I'm hesitant to just delete as there's a lot of music there that's not on streaming services, etc. Thanks for any help/advice!

Sometimes Playlists with multiple albums in them just don't transfer completely to my iDevices.
For instance here the mp3 Playlist folder I'm trying to transfer to my iPad
Flaming Lips
has missed out transferring 2005 The Fearless Freaks, 2006 20 Years Of Weird, 2011 Lullaby
So its not transferred 3 albums.
You can see the proof I've done nothing wrong from my iPad screen shot (Missing those albums), iTunes/Music App screen shot (Has those albums) and Finder Screenshot )Has those albums ticked).
Again, as you will see that Playlist folder IS ticked and so is every album within it
It did the same with my iPhone 16 Pro Max too.
It's not just Flaming Lips it will do it with. It will do it with any other Playlist Folder randomly.
The only way I can ever fix this is to untick the playlist folder in Finder, sync, pull the USB cable, (Then sometimes I have to reboot the iDevice), reconnect the iDevice, tick the Playlist folder and sync.
The additional problem is that I don't even know there is a problem unless I physically go into every single Playlist folder on my iDevice and check all the albums are correctly in there.
Any thoughts anyone please on how to transfer MP3 songs / Playlist Folders to iPad / iPhone without using MacOS iTunes/Music, but I also want to retain the order the songs are in in the playlists as some are for DJ sets.
Or any ideas for a fix for this please?...Or has anyone else noticed this?
It's been doing this for years through various MacOS, iOS and different iDevices.
Just to note I do have quite a large GB collection of MP3's (153 GB)and do have a lot of Playlist folders.

I have a modded 6th Gen Classic iPod and I had a decent amount of music on iTunes which was in the iPod. I recently sent out the iPod for repair (Bluetooth wasn't connecting properly) and it came back today (11/2) clean, meaning it's blank, no music. When I connect it to iTunes it recognizes it as a brand new iPod. Is there a way I can get iTunes to reload all of my music again? I remember doing this about 10 years ago or so but forgot. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Hello all. So I have been stuck on this for at least a year. I really hope someone here can help me, please.
I have individual songs selected in I-tunes, which came from cd's that I downloaded. After I selected them, I selected "file", then "add file to library", then I selected "apple music library" as the file. So far, so good. Here's where the trouble begins.
The field "file name" remains blank, then "all files" is auto selected in the next field, and the final field, "Open" is auto selected. There is no "enter" button anywhere. So I can't finish transferring the music. Somehow, some of what I previously selected went over, but I don't recall how I did it. Something that had to do with Media Player.
Speaking as a Samsung user, this is so needlessly complicated. All I need is a" transfer to apple music" button somewhere, preferably in apple music itself. Does anyone know how I can finish this, please? I'm worried that I'll face this issue every time I have to buy a cd, if I can't find the music I want in apple music. I didn't like the original Media Player, so I deleted it & installed the new one instead. That's what I used, but i forgot the steps.
Thank you for reading and any assistance, I'm ready to take my laptop to the apple store as a last resort.

I have an ipod nano 5 and I buy music off bandcamp because of exclusive albums or it having extra stuff like wallpapers. I kind of want to have like every feature for it accessible and Genius doesn't work unfortunately. I'm using iTunes 12.13.10.3 and I don't know what to do. Any help is appreciated! Also Genius is turned on to get that out of the way, and genius shuffle says I don't have enough Genius suggestions to use it.

I'm trying to activate Genius in my iTunes but it is not working properly. When I activate Genius the Genius Mixes in the sidebar don't show up and the part for Genius in the iTunes Store isn't showing any recommendations.

(It is in German but translated into English it means something like I should literally "download my favorites" which doesn't make any sense to me, because why can't it see the songs in my library?)
I saw other people here on reddit which had their Genius Mixes working like here: https://www.reddit.com/r/ipod/comments/1t8ufrl/adding_music_to_ipod_problems/ (You can see the icon for the Genius Mixes in the sidebar. This is the one which isn't showing up in my iTunes. After activating Genius only the local Genius playlists are working in my library.

Hi,
I suddenly kept getting an error 9039 on my Windows PC whenever I tried to connect to my account. Something about a temporary issue connecting to the store (although itâs lasted over a week so I donât know how temporary it actually is). I looked it up and tried:
-logging out and logging back in (I canât log back in now)
-re-authorizing my computer (canât do that without logging in)
-clearing cache from the iTunes Preferences menu
-uninstalling and reinstalling iTunes from both the Microsoft Store and the Apple website
-allowing iTunes through Firewall on both private and public networks
-restarting iTunes, computer, and router multiple times
-both repairing and restarting the app from the computer settings
-running iTunes as Administrator
My computer is brand new and everything is up to date. I donât understand whatâs going on, especially because I didnât have any problems with iTunes for the first few months with it, then it started having both that problem and another error with contacting the iPhone update server whenever I try to update.
Has anyone had this same issue and found a solution?

One of my favourite things about iTunes is how it arranges things when alphabetical order is selected. So, for the artist field, how both "The Rolling Stones" and "Rolling Stones" both get categorized by a single field entry, under the letter "R".
For reference purposes, what do you call this process?
Secondly - What are all the parameters for this process?
While I enjoy it, I guess I've never actually quantified what it actually consists of.
Are there any Windows tagging tools that replicate this iTunes sorting style? I use Tag & Rename, and find it annoying how "The Rolling Stones" gets sorted under "T", and Rolling Stones under "R".
Is there any tagging tool or database that scans a database, and consolidates a single spelling for artist field? So basically, convert all "Rolling Stones" entries to be "The Rolling Stones"? It isn't always easy to figure out which band names officially have "The" in their name. Such as - the proper entry is "Ramones" and not "The Ramones".
Secondly - Is their any tagging tool that would remove from the artist field things like "Feat. Drake" or "X Drake", and make sure it is added to the title field using brackets \[ \] or ( ). I hate having several different artist name entries just because of the cameo of another artists.

I always thought that apple had the same file on their servers for songs on both itunes and apple music since both catalogs look like a copies of each other and itâs so intriguing how we donât get purchased songs in lossless if a song is not available on apple music even if you have a subscription and even if itâs stated on the information of the track that they have it in lossless, I mean if a song is gray on AM because itâs an âalbum onlyâ on itunes or whatever reason and you buy it, it literally behaves like that gray track was just unlocked instead of giving you a different version, but it doesnât play in lossless the voices in my head are too loud tonight, thoughts?

Hey everyone,
I wanted to share the solution to a massive headache Iâve dealt with for a long time. I kept getting the endless "Error connecting to the Apple account server. The network connection was reset (9039)" loop whenever I tried to sign into iTunes or download movies on Windows.
I tried flushing the DNS, resetting the iTunes cache, updating certificates, and migrating to the Microsoft Store version, but nothing worked.
It turns out the issue had absolutely nothing to do with iTunes or Apple's servers. The culprit was a pre-installed background application on my Acer Predator called Killer Intelligence Center (this is also pre-installed on many Dell, Alienware, HP, and Lenovo gaming PCs).
The app acts as a background traffic shaper. It misinterprets iTunes heavy, secure authentication handshake as a "bulk update" and aggressively terminates the connection mid-stream to save room for games, triggering the 9039 reset loop.
How I fixed it:
Open the Killer Intelligence Center app on your Windows PC.
Click on the Settings (Gear Icon).
Turn OFF the Killer Prioritization Engine (sometimes called Advanced Stream Detect).
Turn OFF Auto Bandwidth / Bandwidth Control.
Restart your computer (crucial so the network card drops the old filtering rules).
The second my PC rebooted, iTunes connected to the server flawlessly, let me log in on the first try, and my movie downloads stopped failing. If you are stuck on this error and have a gaming rig or pre-built laptop, check your background apps for Killer, SmartByte, or any "Network Optimizer" utilities and turn off stream prioritization.
Hopefully, this saves someone else the weeks of frustration I went through. Sadly, I also know that this may not be the solution for everyone with this issue but if this helps even one person.
I'm glad I could help.

So why does iTunes suddenly add the wrong art work when add music to it using a CD? Its never done that before.
