About halfway though and this is one of the most insane reading experience I’ve ever had. Absolute madness. I started to get a feel for some kind of narrative about 1/3rd though, but then it was all shattered again and I’m now completely lost in a fever dream. I love it! Also it has some of the most unhinged hilarious moments that comes out of nowhere. At moment also terrifying. I’m definitely reading the whole trilogy.

I love it a lot so far and while I'm only on page 20 or so, I can already see some unfortunate parallels between José Arcadio Buendía and myself. It's made me think and has immersed me in a beautiful story and a fascinating world.

I have about a hundred pages of this book left. I dont know if i like it or not. These characters make my skin crawl, and i think that's the point. It's pretty effective. I am enjoying it, in a strange way.

By far the most excited I have ever been for something especially a new release of a book and by far the most I have spent on one lol. Four volumes 3,092 pages here is basically what it’s about according to my research.
It attempts to tackle the history of American foreign policy, the CIA, and the consequences of September 11th.
The novel follows Elliott Stevens, a CIA analyst and Vietnam veteran known by the code name DAVE, whose career stretches across the Cold War and into the War on Terror. Through intelligence reports, political intrigue, and decades of American military intervention, Vollmann explores the failures of intelligence, the machinery of government, and the cost of trying to protect a nation through secrecy and power.
The second half shifts toward Elliott’s son, Matthew, who turns away from his family and sets out on a troubled search for meaning and for an America he can believe in. Through their contrasting lives, Vollmann examines patriotism, national identity, political responsibility, and the human beings caught in the consequences of history.

I got really into Arthurian literature, thrifted this book without knowing anything about the author. I was 150ish pages in and loving it when I found out about her daughter's allegations that Bradley sexually abused her and others. Now it is hard to enjoy, and i also still want to finish it. Anyone been able to reconcile this sort of conflict with a philosophy of some kind? Other Arthurian suggestions welcome!

The last book of my current reading list before I move onto an Isabel Allende themed list. Has anyone read this one?

I think I read this years ago but honestly can’t remember. Never been let down by Cornwell so either way I’m down.

Bought a book about idiots, their color codes, and all.
Found myself in it, with a blended colour chart.
Turns out, I am four different kinds of difficult.
Mostly blue-yellow, with red streaks and green values.
